Camila’s POV
Some celebrations have also passed, and we have had some invitations from the Roswells. We have been invited over congratulary party that I purposely woke up very late to did not attend it.
There was also a session where I had to be with some of investors of the company but I reasoned out and told our young CEO that I wasn’t feeling well. Because, unfortunately, Sevann was one of those investors. It confused me that a doctor was also an investor.
They were also a Christening party with their family was invited but I reasoned out again so I can’t go to that. I spent those days with my daughter. I spent more time with her as I grew older.
After that thing happened, I noticed then how usual the dinner invitation is, from Roswells. it was almost every week, and Charles was forcing me even more to go. Even, Camile wanted to go but because of me, she couldn’t.
My lips parted as I watched Yaya enters the house from outside. It looks like she took something from the mailbox of the house. She looks really curious about what is it, so I do.
I took a step down the stairs. “Yaya? Ano iyan?” I raised my voice so that Yaya could hear what I was asking.
I looked at Denise in confusion. “Why? Are you going to decline me?”
She scratched her lips. “To inform you, Camila, I have so many pending projects. And, if ever na pati ikaw ay magpapagawa sa akin, sigurado nang magagahol ako sa oras nito.”
I bit my lower lip while looking at her. I am a little bit hesitant if I should look for another architect, but I only liked Denise’s designs so I really wanted to be my architect!
“Uh, puwede namang pasabit nalang iyong akin.” I hesitantly said. She looked at me with confusion. “Hindi naman ako nagmamadali!”
She chuckled softly as she shakes her head on me. She gestured me to shut up. It seems like she made her decision already.
“Okay–okay! I’ll accept it! But, I’ll done your project if I have my free time so you won’t wait for too long.” She asserted with finality. My eyes widened as I looked at her. I immediately thanked her for accepting it, and all she respond to me was a chuckles.
As soon as I finished reading the invitation card, I got a call from our CEO. My brows were furrowed while talking to him. He really is annoying for a CEO.
[ You haven’t hired one secretary yet. ] That was his opening when I answered the call.
“Give me time, of course!” pagdadahilan ko.
He chuckled softly. [ Okay. Okay! ] I did not talk and was still silent. [ Anyways, have you receive an invitation card? ]
I instantly looked at the invitation card that I currently holding by now. I nodded as if he will going to see it. “Yes.” I read the invitation content. “Celebrating the company’s tenth year anniversary this upcoming fifth day of December.”
He sneezed. [ Uh–huh. I am expecting you to come, together with your daughter. ] He sounded serious and his voice became cold which made it strange.
My brows furrowed. “Camile... can’t attend, my daughter has her school activities.”
The other line went silent. [ Oh, is that so? Hmm... I really wanted to see her, but, alright. Good luck to her! ]
I nodded and bid my good bye. He just told me that the celebration is formal. We should wear our formal clothes. The celebration will be held on one of their expensive hotels.
I was lucky because I got away of so many dinner events before, but now, I seemed to have no choice. It was our company’s celebration. It was hard to decline the invitation since I am the Managing Director of that company.
It will be a shame that I can’t attend that kind of celebration.
Today is December 3, and I will be having two day–preparation. I will be having time to look for a formal dress that I will wear during the celebration. I glanced at the second floor of our house.
I turned my gaze at the entrance door of our house when it opened unconsciously. I raised a brow as I looked at it closer. I stepped forward while my eyebrows were furrowed while looking at it.
My lips parted when the door revealed unexpected person. My heart beats faster than its usual.
The woman looked at me with her serious face. It seems like she was going to shout at me anytime. I didn’t know what to react when I saw her inside of the house, grinning. It feels like all of my trauma fired up in just one snap.
“Mama...” I uttered while my gaze was still on her. My lip was shaking but I remained my posture so she can’t tell that I am nervous of her.
