Therapy

Deciding to join everyone at Javier's birthday party had been the best decision I had made. I was having a lot of fun. Jennifer and I were on speaking terms again. Though, not the way I wanted. We were friendly. But that was okay with me. For now. I had to be patient. I knew I was going to get her back.

"Everyone," Javier called out. "I just want to say a couple of words. I want to thank everyone for making my birthday so special tonight. Thank you all for being here. And I especially want to thank, Jennifer. Who has been the most amazing hostess and the best cook. Dios mio!"

Everyone clapped as Jennifer smiled in response.

"It has been such a blast! But the night is not over. I do have one special request. Our dear friend, Lin-Manuel recently directed one of my favorite movies, tick tick..Boom! If you haven't seen it, you're missing out. But there's one song in the movie that makes me smile every time I listen to it. It's the perfect song when you get into an argument with your wife. I love you, mi amor!" He said as he looked down at Penelope.
We all laughed.

"So, Lin-Manuel, hermano," he said smiling at him. "I was wondering if you could sing 'Therapy' for me tonight. As a birthday gift."

Lin-Manuel laughed and walked towards Javier. "Well, I can't do that song unless I have someone to sing it with. It is a duet. And no offense, Javier, but you just don't have the voice for this song. So, I'd like to invite my partner in crime up here. Jen? I need you."

I looked over at her. I was now curious. I hadn't seen the movie and I had no idea what the movie was even about. Or what the song was about but judging by Javier's description, I knew it would be a fun song. I couldn't wait to hear Jen sing again. She had a beautiful voice. But of course, she did, it ran in her family.

Jennifer walked over to where Lin-Manuel was standing. "Should we get chairs?" he asked. He was then given two chairs as they both sat down next to each other.

"For Javier," Lin-Manuel smiled looking over at Javier. "Next time anyone requests this song, I will start charging. Consider it a ticket admission to a Broadway show."
Everyone laughed.

Lin-Manuel and Jen both had microphones in their hands now. Jen looked over at our sound guy and nodded.

Lin-Manuel:

Jen:

Lin-Manuel then looked at Jen, as he continued to sing. They were acting it out as if they were onstage.

If you don't have a problem with my problem
Maybe the problem's simply co-dependency

Jen made a face, mocking annoyance, as she sang:
