I had tried to call Jen a couple of more times, but she never picked up. We were following her home. It was my fault that she had fallen and hurt herself. I wanted to make sure she was okay. And while I was there, maybe we could finally have a civilized discussion. I needed to apologize. I needed to tell her how I felt.

When she finally got home, we purposely stayed behind until she went in. We parked outside her house and waited a bit.

"Alright, I'll be back," I said. "I'm not sure how long I'll be but if I need you, I'll text you."

"Sure thing, Boss," Sean responded.

I almost ran to her front door so that I wouldn't get drenched. The rain had been unforgiving. It was still pouring. I knocked and waited a couple of seconds before I heard her unlocking the door.

"Johnny?" I could tell she was surprised to see me.

"Hey," I responded. "Can I come in?"

"Uh, yeah," she said, stepping aside. "How did you know where I live?"

"I followed you home," I said inspecting her. She was drenched. Then I looked down at her ankle. "I heard you took a fall, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay," she responded. But she wasn't. I could tell she wasn't putting so much weight onto her left ankle. I sighed and shook my head. She was so stubborn. I kneeled down to inspect her ankle, but she pulled away.

"Jen," I said calmly. "I just want to take a look at it."

She looked at me and then allowed me to inspect it. It was swollen. When I touched it she winced in pain.

"Baby, you need to see a doctor," I said looking up at her.

"No," she said trying to fully stand on her own. "I'll just take a hot bath and let it rest. I'll be okay."

I stood up and looked at her without saying a word. I nodded, "Fine, I won't leave until you take a bath and you're in bed. I need to see that you're really resting."

Her eyes widened and was about to argue.

"Where's your bedroom?" I asked.

"Upstairs."

"I'll carry you upstairs," I said lifting her off the floor.

"No, Johnny," she began to argue. "I can make it on my own."

I laughed and began to walk upstairs, completely ignoring her. She was in no shape to walk upstairs by herself. And she knew it. She was just trying to be difficult. But I wasn't about to allow her to get her way.

When we got to her bedroom, I placed her in her bed. I looked around and found her bathroom and began to walk that way.

"Where are you going?" she called out.

"To turn on the bathtub for you," I said turning on the knobs to get the tub started.

"You don't have to do that," she said walking in the bathroom

"Do you want the water to be warmer?" I asked her, completing ignoring her last comment.

She limped towards the bathtub and felt the water. "Yeah, this is fine."

"Good," I said getting up and looking at her. "I'll be outside. I'll have the bed ready for you when you come out."

"Johnny," she began.

"Baby, you might as well argue with the bathtub because I am not budging. I'll be outside."

She looked at me and said nothing. I walked out and closed the door behind me. I walked towards her bed and sat there. I called the bodyguards to give them an update. That I wasn't sure how long as I was going to be. I was not going to leave until she was asleep. I had an inkling that if I left, she wouldn't sleep and would try to get more work done. Not with that ankle. It was completely swollen.
