I walked out of the hotel room as soon as I could. I couldn't stay there. I was furious. The moment I saw that picture my whole mood had changed. This was the same man I had warned to keep away from Jen. He hadn't. He chose not to listen. The ticking bomb that was inside of me had exploded.

I had never seen Jen cry the way she had cried when she was begging me not leave. But all I saw was red. And even if my heart was breaking at the sight of her crying, I couldn't stay. I couldn't be with her. I had to break up with her. I didn't see any other choice. I had failed her. And she had failed me. There was no turning back.

I walked out like a raging bull.

"Boss?" I heard Sean call out behind me.

"Stay," I growled. "I'm going out with the guys."

I wasn't in the mood to let Sean in on what had happened. All I knew was that I needed to get out of there and fast. I knew that Alice and Joe were having dinner at nearby local restaurant. That's exactly where I needed to go.

I sent my other bodyguard, Malcolm, a text so that he could have a car waiting for me to drive me to the restaurant. Once I was in the lobby, I was ushered into the waiting car.

"Drive me to the restaurant," I growled.

"Sure thing, Boss," Malcolm nodded.

I needed to calm down. I wiped my eyes and tried to compose myself before arriving. I couldn't let anyone see me in the shape I was in. I was heartbroken.

Once we arrived, I walked out and into the restaurant. I soon spotted Alice and Joe and walked towards their table.

"Johnny," Alice looked surprised to see me. "What are you doing here? I thought you wanted to go back to the hotel to meet with Jen."

"Fuck that, man," I growled as I poured myself some wine.

"Are you okay?" Alice asked.

I shook my head and downed the wine. "I broke up with Jen."

"What?" I heard Joe say. "Why? What happened?"

"It's a long story," I said looking down at the table.

"We have time," Alice responded.

"This fucker named Fernando," I growled. "This Mexican wannabe fucking prince charming, and singer was at her dad's concert. And he fucking kissed her. The paparazzi captured them kissing."

"Did she kiss him back?" Joe asked.

"I have no fucking clue," I growled.

"Did you ask her?" Joe continued.

"No," I growled. "I had warned that fucker to stay away from her the last time I had this misfortune of meeting him. He didn't fucking listen."

"Come on, Johnny," Joe began. "You're not making any sense right now."

"How am I not making sense?" I snapped. "He kissed her."

"But you don't even know if she kissed him back," he snapped back at me. "And by the sound of it, you probably blew up at her before she told you her side of the story."

"Look," I growled. "Ever since that incident, I had promised myself that I wouldn't let anyone hurt her. That I wouldn't let anything happen to her. Ever again. And here comes this motherfucker and ruins everything. Because he has the hots for her. You don't understand. This is the exact same thing that happened with the other fucker. And look what ended up happening?"

"I see your point," Joe cut me off. "But don't you think breaking up with her was a bit drastic?"

"No," I growled. "Maybe this will teach Jen a lesson. She knows about my history. I have trust issues. They still fucking haunt me to this day."
