Chapter 33

I open my eyes as I return to the real world. I move to the cliff to see Zuko still crying in his uncle's arm. "Zuko..." I said, in a hush tone. I think back what my parents told me. I know what to choose now...

Y/N P.O.V

I close my eyes as I focus on my brother. I have to see if he's alright, then I can make a final decision. I get inside his mind, trying to see how he's doing right now.

I feel a surge of sadness spreading through my chest. I can see in Aang's mind. Appa is missing. Appa is taken by the sand-benders. My eyes shot open, as I realize I what happened to them.

I'm sorry, Zuko... but my brother needed me more. I know where my brother is heading to. He's heading to Ba Sing Se, because that's where he got the lead of where Appa is sent to according to the sand-bender. I open my glider and turn to fly.

After a few days, I can make out the wall of Ba Sing Se in front of me. I can see something trying to force itself to enter the city. It looks like a machine. I can see the Fire Nation insignia.

I can see my brother fighting against Azula. I can tell that he's struggling. Just as Azula is about to shoot fire at him, who's pinned against the wall. I land in front of him and blow a strong gust of air at Azula, which sends her flying backward.

"Y/N!" Aang said. I turn to look at him and smile. He use earth-bending and release himself against the wall. He rushes towards me and wraps his arms around me.

"Okay, thanks for the welcome. But we have to focus on stopping this thing, no?" I said. He quickly pulls away and nod his head. "Yeah... I'm just happy to see you're back" he said.

"So... what's the plan?" I asked. "You see this X sign I formed here..." he said, pointing towards the ground. "Yeah..." I said, nodding my head while staring at it. "Now we just need something to puncture it. Then this whole machine will collapse" he said. As soon as he said that, a giant boulder landed right next to us.

"Oh... just what we need" he said. He use his earth-bending and sharpens it. I hear footsteps of someone running towards us. I turn my head to see Azula. "You focus on that... I'll take care of her" I said. I move to stand on battle stance. Aang use his air scooter and moves up the wall. I turn to focus on Azula.

Azula shoots fire at me. I duck out of the way and use earth-bending towards her. I feel the machine shakes. I turn my head to see Aang have landed right on the rock he sharpened. Soon the machine starts to malfunction and eventually collapses.

"I just want to say, good effort out there today, Team Avatar!" Sokka said. "Enough with the Team Avatar stuff. No matter how many times you say it, it's not going to catch on" Katara said.

"How about... the Boomeraang Squad! See it's good because it's got "Aang" in it. Boomeraang" he said, placing a hand on Aang's shoulder.

"Awe... you hurt my feeling, Sokka. How come only Aang's name is used for our gang's name?" I said, landing next to him. He let out a shriek of fright by my sudden appearance.

"Y/N!!" Katara said, rushing towards me. She pulls me into a tight hug. "Hello, Katara..." I said, hugging her back. Toph walks towards me and hugs me too. Sokka is the last one who finally realize who I am. He rush towards me and wraps his arms around me.

"I'm so worried about you! I thought I won't be able to see you again, because you chose to stay with that lunatic" he said. I know he's talking about Zuko. So, I can feel annoyance growing inside my chest. How dare he calls Zuko lunatic. He's not lunatic! He's just lost his way. I wonder how he is right now, and what is he doing.

Zuko P.O.V

I'm sitting in circle with a man name Jet, along with his little Freedom Fighter group. We have just stole some food from the captain. He wasn't joking when he said they have a lot of food.

My mind went back to Y/N. I wonder if she have met her brother. Have they been reunited? I let out a soft sigh, as I take another bite. I can only hope that she will be alright. I miss her already.

"Hey, what are you thinking, man?" Jet said. I turn to look at him and looks away. "No one..." I said, in a hush voice. "Doesn't seem like nothing. Well... let me guess... girl problem? I can see it on your face. You're in love" He said. I can feel my cheeks getting warmer at his comment.

"I'm right, aren't I?" He said, smugly. I let out a sigh. "Yeah..." I said. "So... what happened between you and the girl? One-sided?" He asked. "No... she said she loves me too" I said. "Then what seem to be the problem?" He said. "It's uhh... complicated..." I said. He just hum softly at my response.

Time-skip

Y/N P.O.V

We are now inside a train. I lean my arm against the window as I stare out. "Look, the Inner Wall!" I hear Katara said with excitement. I turn my head to look at where she's looking at.

"I can't believe we finally made it to Ba Sing Se in one piece!" She said. "Hey, don't jinx it! We can still be attacked by some giant exploding Fire Nation spoon. Or find out the city's been submerged in an ocean full of killer shrimp!" Sokka said. I rolled my eyes and shake my head. On every situation, Sokka is always the paranoid one.

"You been hitting the cactus juice again?" Toph said. I turn to look at her in confusion. "Cactus juice? He drank cactus juice?" I said. She nod her head. "Yeah. When we were trapped in the desert. He drank the juice... and let's just say... he's super drunk" she said. I burst out laughing at what she told me.

"Ah man... what would I give to see that for myself" I said, wiping away the tear that escaped my eyes. I hear Sokka scoffing. "You shouldn't have left..." he said. I turn to look at him. "Well... I'm sorry that I only wanted to be a kind human. I didn't know that was such a crime" I said, rolling my eyes. I turn to look at my brother. I can see sadness written all over his face.

"Don't worry Aang, we'll find Appa" Katara said. "It's such a big city..." he said. "I'm sorry I wasn't there to help, brother" I said. He turns to look at me and just sigh.

He wraps an arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer to his side. I close my eyes and hugs him back. I can't shake the feeling of longing in my heart. I miss Zuko. I wonder if he misses me too.
