"Down with the avatar!" The people screams. I froze in spot as the sight. These people are mad! Why would they burn the floats? Unless... they hated the Avatars. But why??

-We're Innocent!-

Y/N P.O.V

I use water bending from a nearby source. I send a stream of it to the burning floats. Katara doing the same with the other two. I turn my head to see the villagers looking at us in shock and anger.

"Those party pooper's ruining Avatar Day!" One of them said. I clench my hands angrily as I glare at him. Aang turns to them with an angry look. He use his air-bending and send himself upwards. He lands right on the float's of himself, on the shoulder.

"The party poopers my friend and sister!" He said. He takes off his hat and throws it aside. I jump and land on the other side. I take off my hood to reveal my face. The crowd gasps at the sight of us.

"It's the Avatars themselves!" One of the crowd said. "They're going to kill us!" Another said, stepping back in fear. I frown at what he just said.

"No..." I said. "We're not. We..." Aang tried to say, but they cowers in fear. Aang looks at his hand and hides it behind his back. "I suggest you leave! You're not welcome here, Avatars!" He said. Katara turns to look at him. "Why not? They help people!" She said, sounding offended.

"I find that hard to swallow, considering what you did to us in your past life! It was Avatar Kyoshi. She murdered our glorious leader; Chin the Great" he said.

"You think that we... murdered someone?" Aang said, while I look at him with a horrified expression. "We used to be a great society before you killed our leader. Now look at us!" He said. The villagers looks at us with a look of disgust.

"Huh??" Aang said. I turn to him with a worried face. "What do we do now, brother?" I asked. He turns to look at me with worry in his face. Katara places a hand on my shoulder, and Aang's.

"They would never do something like that" she said. I turn to look at her. She turns to me with a smile. "No Avatar would. Certainly not these two. They're the nicest people you would ever know. And it's not fair for you all to question their honors!" She said said.

"Let's tell her what we all think of the Avatars's honor!" The mayor said. He turns around, showing us his butt and blows a raspberry. The action kinda ticked me off. Sokka wraps his arm around me, to make sure I won't do anything to the man.

"Give us a chance to clear our names!" Aang said, in a pleading tone. "The only way to prove both of your innocence is to stand trials" he said. Aang and I look at each other. I give him a nod. He nods back and turn to the crowd. "We'll gladly stand trials" he said. "You'll have to follow all our rules. That includes paying bail" he said. "No problem" I said, nodding my head.

Aang and I stand inside a jail. We have our arms cuffed and our heads inside a wooden panel. Katara holds her hands, before covering her eyes in shame. Sokka leans against the prison bar, crossing both of his arms across his chest. He looks annoyed at the two of us.

"How was I suppose to know they wouldn't take Water Tribe money?" Aang said. "So... some people don't like you two. Big deal! There's a whole Nation of fire-benders who hates you. Now let's bust you two out of here" Sokka said. "We can't..." I said. "Sure you can! A little..." Sokka said, sounding upbeat.

"Swish swish swish! Air-bending slice!" He said, while going around the place making motions with his hands. He makes a circular motion with his hands. "And then we're out of here" he said. I just give him a straight face.

"I think what 'Master Swish' is trying to say is that you two are supposed to be out saving the world. You can't do that locked up in here" Katara said. I let out a sigh as I turn to look at Aang.

"We can't do that either..." he said. "Yeah... how are we supposed to save the world if there are people that thinks we're murderers?" I said. Aang nods his head, agreeing with me. "We need you guys to help prove both of our innocences" he said, looking at Katara and Sokka with a pleading look.

"How're we gonna to do that? The crime happened over three hundred years ago" Sokka said. I turn to Aang and whisper something in his ear. "He have a huge pride. Maybe we can irk him a little?" I said, in a whispering tone. His eyes lit up at what I said. He grins at me and nods his head. He clears his throat and turn to Sokka.

""That's okay, Sokka. For some reason, I thought you were an expert detective" he said. I bit my lips, as I try not to laugh. Sokka blink at his comment. "Well, I guess I could be classified as such" he said. Katara looks confused. I wink at her. She seems to get the picture.

"Yeah! Back home, he was famous for solving the mystery of the missing seal jerky" Katara said. I let out a dramatic gasp. "No way... he must be really good then" I said. I can see the ego in Sokka's eyes skyrocketing. I smirk to myself, knowing my plan had worked.

"Everyone wanted to blame it on the polar leopard, but I figured out it was Old Man Jarko wearing polar leopard boots!" He said, as he start bragging. I turn to look at Aang as he starts making fun of Sokka as he face the other way.

"... okay I guess I am pretty good" he said. I let out a soft giggle. "Told you it'll work..." I said, grinning at Aang. He nods his head in agreement, with a huge smile on his face. He turns to Sokka. "So, you'll help us with our case?" He said. Sokka pretends to think about it. "Fine... but I'm going to need some new props" he said.

A while later

Sokka now standing in front of us with a hat with a monocle. "Alright... I'm ready" he said. Katara gives him an unamused expression. He turns to look at him. He expand the monocle closer to her face. "What?" He asked. I shake my head and laugh to myself. Hopefully, we can solve this murder case. I just want them to know that it isn't our doing... that we're not murderers. We're innocent!
