Nico's POV
When Delphine held Cindy close to her she whispered something. I knew she never intended for anyone else to hear but I picked up a little bit of it. She said something about taking a punch what did she mean?
This girl has secrets that I want to find out. Over these days she has lived with us I noticed how she doesn't use an alarm but always wakes up. Granted that's not really weird but she gets up extremely early by the time we all come down she is ready and finished breakfast.
She also never asks for anything. Whether food or clothing, she'll mention how she needs to go to the store but never asks for money. Shaking off the eerie feeling I leave my room. I see Delphine on the counter eating an apple. I can see her lip has a band-aid under it and a slight red mar around it. Her hand is bruised around her knuckles.
"You should learn how to punch."
She looks up frightened. "What?"
"Learn how to punch so you won't hurt your hand anymore."
"Will I have to punch anymore people?"
"I don't know."
"Are they any more crazy wannabe girlfriends?"
"Why, you jealous?"
"Of what?"
"Jealous of how those girls got a piece of this." I run my hands showcasing my awesome body. I don't mean to brag but I do have a decent set of abs and upper body muscles.
She grimaces at me not trying to hide her disgust. How dare she. She would be lucky to even have a peek at this.
Faking offense I grab my bowl of cereal and begin eating at the table. I keep my eyes on her as she eats her apple while scrolling through her phone.
"What do you think about the club?"
"I'm okay with it." She shrugs it off.
...
After school me, Leon and Nolan are standing around our bikes. I usually take Mina to and from school but today I have to go to the shop. Dom owns the shop and the bar we do club business at.
So since I have plans Faye offered to take Mina home in her car. Mine doesn't have a vehicle because she is scared of driving, when we were younger our mom and her were in a minor car accident that terrified Mina. Even sitting in a car she has to be in a certain spot and only trusts some people to drive.
Getting on my bike me and the guys head over to the garage. I take off my helmet running my hand through my hair. We walk inside to see no one at the front desk and having been here before we all just walk back.
I see Darren working on someone's car so I walk over as he tends to know where everything and everyone is.
"Darren, you seen Dom around?" He picks his head up.
"Yeah, he's over there." He points to the last bay that you can't see from here.
I drag the guys over with me on the way we pass by some of the other members of the club. When we get there I see Dom sitting next to a table working on a painting design.
"Del come here."
Delphine stands up from behind the bike and walks over to her dad not noticing us.
"What is it?" She stands next to him and looks over his arm at the piece of paper.
"I need your opinion I was able to get the impala running and now I need to paint it. The guy wants to have a small design on it that can match with his bike."
"So same color, same design."
"Yep, so any ideas."
"Does he have any children?" Why is that important?
"Yeah, a daughter."
"Ok, so I would do black paint and then add in lighter black butterflies. So then only at certain angles, you can see them." She looks up at her dad.
"ok, you're in charge of drawing the butterflies." She snaps her head at her dad in a rather humorless manner.
And while watching this cute father-daughter bonding moment Nolan of course has to ruin it by sneezing.
Both of their heads snap to us as they both give us a glare.
"You know what I now see it." Leon tilts his head.
"See what?" Delphine's cold voice reaches us.
"How two are related. I mean the same glare, same eye. No offense Delphine."
She rolls her eyes as she takes a seat on top of the table.
"You boys need something?"
"Yeah I want a new paint job," I spoke as Delphine was sending daggers at Leon and Nolan had taken a seat on the floor.
"Any idea on what you want?"
"Surprise me."
Dom chuckles a little, "I can do that"
We all get out and go home. Dom and Delphine get home a little later than us.
