Delphine's POV
I know the hospital pillows aren't the best but I don't remember them being this hard and warm. Sitting up I look around feeling exhausted still. I can see some light from the window. Remembering the pillow I woke up on I look over to be horrified.
I was laying on Nico's chest. Last night had a nightmare. Oh my god, I hugged him and cried on him. I can never look at him again.
Shuffling out of my bed was proven to be a challenge. my ribs are killing me and my hand is sore. Guess the pain meds wore off. Sliding off the bed I rest my non-injured hand on the bed trying to catch my breath.
Walking over to the other side of the room I manage to grab my bag and make it to the bathroom. Walking in a cringed at my face. The cut on my forehead has bled through the white butterfly band-aid. My lip and cheek are extremely sore, touching my lip I have to pull my hand away. Taking a look down at myself I notice that I wearing Nico's hoodie, he must have given it to me last night.
Going through my bag I grab out my hairbrush. I was told that the best way to wash was a bath where I could relax and take pressure off my ribs. So when I get home I'll take a bath, taking out my ratty braid brush through it, and rebraid it.
Grabbing my toothbrush I of course brush my teeth for a few minutes. WIth them clean I ash my face, Mina brought me my face wash which I am very thankful for. After a few days of never washing my face and then sweating last night, I can feel the dirt in my pores. Scrubbing my face almost red I finally felt better.
Grabbing out my clothes, I find a pair of sweatpants and a loose-fitting long sleeve shirt. I go to take off the grey hoodie. I am able to see the bruises and scratches on my arms. Shaking my head I close the toilet seat and take a seat. I lift up my butt a little and slide off my shorts. Grabbing my sweatpants I slide those on standing up a little and tying the drawstring.
I grab one of the straps of my white tank top and slid it off and then move the other one. I move the body of the shirt down my legs and let it fall to the ground. I turn around and look back at the mirror to see my back. Thankfully I don't have any band-aids to change on my back but a light purple bruise covering most of my back. I can see some darker bruises that look like fingers.
Towards my shoulder blades a few shallow scratches. Turning back around to face the mirrors I can see the dark purple and marron bruises on my ribs. Grabbing my shirt off the counter, I slide my hands through the sleeves. I bunch the shirt up to my throat and use my hand to slip my head in. I let the shirt fall but it gets stuck on my sports bra. I use one hand and pull it the rest of the way done.
Taking a breather I take a seat again. Who knew changing with burised ribs would be so hard. With my breath back I grab a pair of socks and put them on and put everything else my in bag. When I tried to grab my clothes off the floor I had to stand up from the pain in my ribs. I'll get Nico to grab it for me.
Walking out of the bathroom Nico is no longer in my bed and my dad is in my room.
"Morning."
"Morning, you sleep okay?" I can see Nico looking at me from the corner of my eye.
"Yeah, I woke up in a little bit of pain though." My dad nods. Someone outside knocks on my door before walking in. My doctor comes in.
"Morning Delphine. How are you feeling today?"
"Just a little bit of pain but other than that fine." I walk over to my dad sitting on the bed with my legs hanging off the edge.
"Mr. Hale, can I talk to you about Delphine's discharge?" Dad nods and follows her out to the hallway.
"Can you do me a favor?" Nico looks over at me as I ask my question.
"Sure."
"I wasn't able to pick up my clothes in the bathroom. Can you grab them and put them in my bag?"
"Sure." I nod and look back over to the door waiting for my dad to come back inside. I can see them out the gaps in the window blinds. Nico walks with my bag and sets it next to me. I watch as he grabs my phone and charger from his chair.
"Thank you." He nods and goes out into the hall while my dad comes in.
"You ready?"
"To sleep in my own bed. Hell yeah." I slide off my bed as he chuckles and grabs my bag for me.
"We'll stop at the pharmacy to get your pain meds."
"Can we get food?" We make it to the elevator as he pushes the 'P' button.
"Honey is cooking pancakes just for you."
"With chocolate chips?"
"Yes with chocolate chips."
"Nice." He chuckles as I watch the red L.E.D lights count down.
"Are you sure you're okay? You look a little tired."
"Yeah, had a hard time falling asleep last night. I promise I'm fine." He nods as the elevator bell signifies that we made it to the parking garage. He leads me over to Honey's car. He opens the passenger door for me and helps me get it. Thankfully her car is lower to the ground and requires no hopping to get in.
He drives us to the pharmacy, I stay in the car as he goes in. After a few minutes of me looking through my phone, I hear the door shut and look over at dad. He hands me the small paper bag.
"You can take those every 4 hours and as needed. You can't take the pills on an empty stomach." He starts the car and drives us home.
Walking into the house my dad takes my bag to my room as I head to the kitchen smelling food with my pills. I walk in and see only Honey and Cyrus inside.
"Oh dear, I'm so glad you are here." Honey comes over and gives me a gentle hug. "Sit down dear and I'll grab your plate." I sit next to Cyrus.
"Did you miss me?" I give him a smug smile while turning my head to the side.
"No."
"Excuse me. You know you love me."
"Not really."
"Honey Cyrus is being mean to me," I tell on him as Honey sets my plate down.
"Cyrus be nice to her. She just to out of the hospital." Honey scolds him as he gapes at her and then glares at me when she turns around. I give him a smirk as I cut up my pancake moaning at the taste of warm chocolate.
"What? I haven't had real food in like four days." I look over at him as he stares at me eating.
"You've been awake for a whole day."
"Yeah so. Have you had hospital food? It's awful."
"She's not wrong Cy. When I had the twins the food was worse than anything you ever cooked for me." Honey sits down with her and Cyrus's plate of plain pancakes.
"First of all, I am not that bad of a cook. Second of all, why does she get chocolate chip pancakes and I don't." He points to Honey while defending his cooking and then points to my food that is almost finished.
"Because she is injured and deserved something god right now." She once again scolds him as I give him a fake pout while rubbing my fractured wrist.
"I can never win in this house." Me and Honey laugh as we finish our food. I take my meds and lay down on the couch for the afternoon.
