Delphine's POV
Mina- Hey I'm staying at Faye's tonight.
Me- ok
I show Nico my phone as he is cooking. I'm sitting on the counter next to him. Our parents are on a small ride talking to another club nearby to look out for my mom.
Since we got her letter they have been working on trying to find her and how she faked her death. I mean it makes sense. Since I was a minor at the time of her death I wasn't allowed to id her so they had to go off of clues.
We contacted our police contacts and they said that since she had the same features and was in a common location as my mom they assumed it was her. It was an overdose so not much was done in actual investigating.
It's been a few months since me and Nico had are fight and since then we have been great. We all graduated a month ago and are preparing for college.
Tonight Nico is making us some kind of pasta dish, to be honest, I wasn't really listening when he was telling me.
"What do you want to do tonight?" He raises his eyebrows suggestively.
"How bout a movie in my room?"
"Not quite what I was thinking." he comes closer and sets his hands on my thighs.
"Well too bad." I push his hands off of me while he pouts and gets back to his food.
"Fine, what movie do you want to watch?"
"Umm... I don't know you pick."
He chuckles before plating us up some food. We eat dinner together and then I go to my room and he goes to him to change.
I put on a tank top and some shorts. He comes in wearing a shirt and sweatpants. He lays down next to me turning on the tv.
"Ohh. Scobby Doo" He laughs and puts on Scobby Doo for me. I snuggle into his chest and he holds me. He rubs his hand on my back. I cuddle in closer to him as the air gets colder.
"Can you go turn the air down it freezing."
"Sure." I get up off of Nico allowing him to get up. He comes back in and lays back down.
"Thank you." We continue to watch my cartoon back in our original placement. After the episode, I get closer to him as it gets closer.
"How low did you turn it to?"
"It was on 65 so I turned ut up to 70. Why are you still cold?"
"Yeah, do you think you could go turn it up again?"
"Yeah, baby." He gets up again leaving my room. I watch my cartoon after a few minutes Nico's not back. Pausing Scobby Doo.
"Nico," I call out not hearing a reply.
"Nico, you okay?" I call out again, "This is a stupid idea." I whisper to myself. I get up and walk to my door.
"Nico" I call out down the hall. The hallway's light was on. I walk down whispering his name. This is how every horror movie goes the dumb girl walks down like oh where is my boyfriend. God, I'm an idiot.
"Nico," I whisper harshly walking down the hallway. I'm halfway down the hallway when the lights go out.
"What in the horror movie." I roll my eyes and continue walking to the living room. I walk in and see a dark shape on the ground near the thermostat.
"Nico" I feel someone grab me by the back of my neck and be cloth to my mouth. My lungs start to burn as i try to hold my breath but the person behind me holds me tight to let me escape.
Eventually, I take a breath in and feel the headache form as I fall into unconsciousness
