Chapter 42- Pinkie Promises

Delphine's POV

Nico's arm is wrapped around my waist. I tried to move away but he only tightened his grip on me. I've been laying here with my leg across his body and my arms hugging him as I'm pinned down. 

My head rises with his breathing. I've been awake for a while, I can't move nor do I want to. I have a small headache from last night and I'm starving. After breakfast yesterday I only had snacks that I found in the office or in my car. 

Nico starts to twitch under me. His hand tightens a little until he brings both of his arms around me. 

"You awake?" His groggy voice asks me. 

"Yeah."

"You okay?"

"Mhm. Just tired still."

"Let's get some breakfast and we can hang out in bed for the rest of the day. OK."

"Sounds good." He lets go of me as I sit up. I look around to see my room light up from the sunlight outside and Odi is not in my room anymore. I check my phone to see we slept in late. We both get up and head to the kitchen. 

Walking in I sit down on the counter near the stove as he grabs out pancake mix. I watch as he mixes it up and flips them on the pan. 

"Did you sleep good?" He asks me while focused on the pan in front of him. 

"Yeah actually. It's the most I've slept in days." He nods and turns off the stove. He sets the pancakes on two separate plates. 

He brings the plates over to the table and I go and sit next to him. We start to eat our breakfast. I finish mine quickly, what I told you I was hungry. 

 "Was it good?" Nico mocks me as he takes another bite. 

"Yes, it was missing one thing though."

"What?"

"You forgot the chocolate chips."

"God, you are spoiled."

"It's not spoiled it's called having taste."

"Taste of a toddler."

"Watch it." We both chuckle as he tasks our plates to the sink. 

He takes my hand and we go back to my room laying down on my bed watching tv. When the current season ended Nico sat up and turned the tv off.

"Can we talk?" I sit up and turn myself to face him. 

"Yeah, can you start?" He chuckles before nodding. 

"I think we need to spend more time together."

"How about we have a date night at least once a month and no matter what we cant cancel or reschedule." 

"Alright, after dinner every night I can come to give you company while you do homework. Whenever you need help you have to ask me." He looked sternly at me. 

"Ok, we can do that."

"Also you have to make time for yourself."

"Deal." I hold up my pinkie to him. He laughs and wraps his pinkie around mine. 

"Speaking of time together where are all of the stuffed animals I got you?"

"Oh." I get up and move off of y bed but knell long the ground. I reach under and grab out a small cute box from under my bed. I set it next to him.

I open it to see the other stuffed animals he's given me. I have a few on my bed, the teddy bear from the carnival, the dolphin from the aquarium, and the turtle from our first date. The rest I put in this box for safe keeping. 

My collection has grown to a number of various animals. Nico gives me a new one after every date we have. He nods as I move the box back underneath my bed. 

We lay down for a bit more until his phone bings with a notification. I let him answer it as I continued to watch tv. 

"Mom and Mina are gonna be home later. I'm gonna go get us some food okay." 

"Okay."

He leaves the room as I continue to watch the show.
