Delphine's POV
Getting up I go to my bathroom brush my teeth and wash my face. I decide to do my makeup today and just did a natural look. I leave my bathroom and go into my closet.
Grabbing a pair of light-washed black jeans, and a long sleeve dark green shirt. I grab my shoes and my phone leaving my room I eat breakfast and we head to school.
Walking I make my way to my first class I sit there quietly in the back waiting for it to start. Halfway through class the door bursts open and in walks Leon.
"Leon, what are doing here?" Our teacher asks him, to be honest, I never bothered to remember the teacher's names.
"Well, I was kicked out of Ms. R's class so I thought I would come to see you." He gives her a wide smile.
"Fine, just sit in the back and be quiet."
Leon came and sat next to me. "Hey, buddy." He pushed me with his elbow.
"You better not get me in trouble."
"Why not?"
"Because my detention week was just completed. I don't intend on going back it was boring as hell." I whisper sharply to him.
"Ok Ok"
Thankfully he stayed quiet but would not stop poking me in the ribs. I almost broke his fingers off but if I did that then I would have to talk to the principal again. I get the feeling that he doesn't like me that much.
At lunch, Leon and Nolan came and sat next to me. Leon put his arm around my shoulders and started whispering random things in my ear.
"Did you know that an ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain?"
I take a bite of my chocolate chip cookie.
"A snail can sleep for three years."
Another bite.
"Crocodiles can not stick their tongues out."
Another bite.
"Elephants are the only animals that can't jump."
A drink of water.
"A pig's orgasm can last for 30 minutes."
I spit out my water across the table. "What the fuck." I gape at him as he smiles innocently at me.
"Did you know that fact?"
"NO! How the fuck did you know that fact?"
"What are you guys talking about?" Mina looks worried at me as I cough holding my chest.
"I was just telling Buddy here about my wonderful animal facts." He gave us an innocent smile like he was telling me facts about birds and not pig's orgasms. Yuck.
"What kind of animal fact?" Faye asks nervously.
"It's a secret." He put his finger against his lip as I stare at him. Nolan pulls me back to rest against my chair now both putting their arms around me.
I stare at Nolan as he also gives me an innocent smile.
I roll my eyes as lunch finally finishes.
The rest of the day went by uneventfully except for both Nolan and Leon kept putting their arms around me or giving me weird long-lasting hugs.
Walking out of my class everyone else had already left, the teacher wanted to talk about an essay I did a while ago. I walk out as the halls were mostly deserted. They were still a few kids in the halls most of them here from clubs or sports.
I walk to my locker and stop a few feet away. There on my locker was a red rose taped to the front. What the hell.
Walking over I look around in case of any nearby. No one is near my locker. I grab the rose from my locker. No note is taped to the front so when I open it I'm half expecting something to maybe fall out.
No note comes out so I hurry up and grab my stuff. Getting out of school as fast as I can something doesn't feel right.
I pass by a trash can on the way out and throw the rose in it. Walking over to my truck I try to keep my exterior calm. I pretend to adjust my pant leg and look under my truck. I hop in and lock the doors look behind me in the back seat and review the mirror.
Taking a deep breath I try to start my truck. It stalls. I try again with my breath picking up. It stalls.
One more time. It starts. I take another breath and start driving home. I keep looking in my mirrors until I get home. I check to see if Nico's bike is here thankfully it is. Getting out I go inside finding Nico in the living room. For the first time, I sit with him and watch the movie he and Mina are playing.
