Delphine's POV
After dinner, we had a movie night in the living room. Honey had forced us all to sit in the living room. She picked out a horror movie. Honey likes scary movies while Cyrus was terrified of them.
She had us all sit down and brought us popcorn. I sat next to my dad and Nico. I leaned my head on my dad's shoulder. We watched the movie. I hid my chuckle in my dad's shoulder whenever Nico or Cyrus jumped. At one point Cyrus had a bowl of popcorn and jumped causing his popcorn to go everywhere.
I still am finding popcorn kernels whenever I moved. Who knew the big bad Cyrus and Nico would be scared of horror movies. I felt Nico grab my hand and squeeze harder when the movie started to play that super suspenseful music.
He held tighter and tighter until he had my whole arm in his grasp and the killer popped out of the shadows. I couldn't hold in my chuckle as he started to hide his eyes with my arm.
"Who knew the bad boy would be scared of a little movie" I whisper in his ear as he elbows me slightly.
"Shut up" he grumbles before settling down while I move to lay back on my dad.
When the movie ends Honey walks up the stairs holding Cyrus' hand. I pry my hand away from him as Mina drags him up the stairs mocking him.
My dad gets up and grabs my hand pulling me up with him.
"Good night Del."
"Night" I watch him go up the stairs. I grab the empty popcorn bowls. I move to the kitchen carrying the three bowls. I empty the kernels into the trash and put the bowls in the sink. I'll wash them in the morning.
Looking up the stairs I see no light on. I grab one of the glass cups and a kitchen knife. Taking a deep breath I go to my room. I set the cup on my desk and keep the knife in my hand. Turning on my light I check underneath my bed, in my closet, and turn on my bathroom light to check the entirety.
Last the window. I go to it I move the curtain and see nothing. I grab the window trying to open it checking its lock.
Satisfied I set the knife on my bed and move the cup there too. I move the chair back and grab the rug the desk is on. I pull it a few inches checking for a noise it might make. When it's silent I finish pulling the desk in front of the door. I grab the cup and set it half on the desk so that it's leaning over the side.
I move my chair against the opposite wall of my bed. I grab the knife and my charger and move them to the outlet next to my seat. I hold the knife in my hand I keep the bathroom light on. I checked a few nights ago and you cant see it under my door.
Now we wait.
