Synopsis of triggering scene in the last chapter: Delphine was dragged in an alleyway way where two men beat her up, one stood watch, one watched her get beat up and told her how her mom owes money and she is the payment.
Nico's POV
I can hear the guys around me playing their drinking games. We had all come to the bar after school to see my dad.
"Darren has Delphine come by yet she's not answering my texts." I hear Dom make a call in the booth next to me.
I can't hear his response but Dom's face tells me my answer. He hasn't seen her. I focus my attention on Dom as he looks even more stressed.
On the table, my phone starts to ring. It's Delphine.
"Dom it's her." I show him my phone. I swipe the call button.
"Hello? Delphine? Are you ok? Delphine?"
I get no response.
"Help." She whispers barely audible.
"Delphine, what's going on? Delphine!"
"Hurry"
"Tommy get her location now!" Dom yells as the whole bar goes on edge. Everyone has stopped drinking and are getting ready to go somewhere. Mina looks at me from across the booth with tears in her eyes.
"I got it! She's on Fifth and Main." Tommy yells not looking up from his computer.
"Let's go, get medics on their way," Dom yells as we all move out of the bar.
"Don't hang up Delphine we're coming." I grab my phone holding it in my hand almost crashing my bike. I see Dom get in the car with my mom and sister. We drive down the roads breaking almost every law we could.
Stopping at the street address we all get out of the car and off our bikes. We start walking around looking for her. I walk by an alleyway my phone still against my ear, I can hear her shallow breathing but it's slowing down.
A slight movement catches my eye, I turn rapidly down the alleyway seeing a body laying on the ground.
"GUYS! She's down here!" I rush down the alleyway. When I get there I feel around her throat for a pulse calling her name. When I find a slow pulse my breath slows down a bit. She's covered in blood, her face is swollen her shirt is covered in dirt and blood. Her arm is bloody and had a boot print of blood clearly imprinted.
Dom comes up by me with his eyes watering but not moving away from her.
I zone out everything until I hear the ambulance's sirens. Two paramedics make their way next to me asking me to move. Dom pulls me away as we watch them work.
"Do you know her?" One checks her pulse and heartbeat while the other gets her ready to move.
"Yes she's my daughter," Dom answers choking.
"How old is she?" The other paramedic asks.
"17, her name is Delphine. Is she gonna be okay?" His voice once again cracks.
"Don't worry we're gonna take good care of her. She'll be fine."
They work together and lift her up her eyes are now fully closed the only thing telling me she is alive is the small movement of her chest.
We watch as they load her up in the ambulance. Me and Dom get in my mom's car and follow the ambulance to the hospital. When we get inside we see Delphine being wheeled back I can hear the paramedics talking about her being unstable.
One of the doctors brings them to a bay and a nurse closes the door. From the window, I can see them hooking her up to machines and putting needles in her arms.
Please be okay.
