Delphine's POV

"Dolphin."

"What goldilocks?"

"Where are you?"

"In the kitchen."

I'm currently standing on the counter in our kitchen, trying to reach the cookies on the top shelf. Nico thinks he's so smart. Putting the sweets up on the top shelf so I can't get to them. Well, I found a loophole.

You are probably wondering what happened when you were in the hospital. Well, when I woke up in the hospital I was informed of my injuries and me and Nico was forced to stay in the hospital for a week. Where he confessed his undying love for me. Just kidding he was more laid back when he told me I was the one who freaked out but it's my story.

When we moved out we stayed at home for a while until we were both fully healed and then went to college. After the first semester, Nico moved out of the house and asked me to move in with him. We both still will wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares, but we have both learned how to calm each other down.

For the last two years, we have been living together. Nico stopped going to college but I find it fun so I still go. Today our friends are coming over before the weekend is over.

"What are you doing?" I turn around to see everyone looking at me on the counter. Nico sighs before coming over and grabbing my hips and pulling me down to the ground.

"I was trying to get my cookies." I scowl at Nico as he smirks and kisses my forehead.

"Let's go." Faye and Mia drag me to the living room. We all sit around the table hanging out. Eventually, Leon finds our alcohol and brings out the bottle giving us all a drink.

"Favorite moment in life?" Faye asked us while taking a drink.

"When Nico and I got separate rooms." Mia instantly says without a second thought. Nico looks offended but shrugs as he agrees.

"Getting my first bike."

"Kissing Nico." I look over at Leon whose eyes are starting to droop.

"Excuse me."

"You jealous Dell that I got your man first." He swings his drink around a bit almost spilling some on my carpet.

"No, but an explanation would be nice." I look to Nico who has been quiet the whole time. Everyone else looks like they knew this was gonna come up.

"It was a dare in middle school, he never shuts up about it."

"How can I man, you were my first kiss." Leon tilts his head dreamily towards Nico. I'm at a loss for words., deciding to not even comment I look over to Faye for her best moment.

"When we moved into a bigger house."

"Finding a family."

"Awww." Both Leon and Mia say looking at me.

"Whatever."

"Oh please, you know you love us Dolphin." Nico hugs me and smushes my cheeks together.

"Shut up."

"I have to know why the nicknames?" A tipsy Leon asks me and Nico.

"You remember for the twin's birthday and we went to the carnival." They all nod, "Well, he won me a teddy bear and Goldilocks makes the most sense to me."  Mae and Faye smile at the sentiment. Nolan pretends to gag, as Leon lets out an exaggerated 'aww'.

"What about you little brother?"

"The name Delphine means Dolphin in Greek." He explained taking me by surprise. Now that I think about we have never explained our nickname to each other. I give him a kiss as they all gag.

I laugh admiring my friends. I grew up as a lonely girl who had no one to worry about her or love her. Now I have amazing friends and people who care about me. I have people who do love me and make sure to tell me.

I have a family.

I'm only missing my damn cookies.
