i pick my 4 year old daughter up and go to my parents house.

being a single mom is not easy.

i work at a big company and i have to be there almost everyday so my parents have to babysit avery almost everyday.

i drop her off and give her a big kiss.

y/n- i'll see you later sweetheart
avery- bye mommy

she waves at me and smiles.

i smile back and wave back at her.

i go back inside my car and hold back tears.

avery looks just like her dad.

especially her smile...

whenever she smiles i just get flashbacks of jacob...

jacob's pov

i was at the grocery store, i grab a bag and put a few apples in the bag.

i go through aisles and then i see a very familiar woman.

is that y/n's mom?

i was about to go greet her then i see her leaving the aisle with a little girl.

could it be? no...

i stop and quickly turn back around and pay for my groceries.

i go back to my car and drive back home.

that can't be my daughter right? i didn't see her face so i don't know.

y/n's pov

-after work-

i drive to my parents house to pick avery up.

i go in and avery runs up to me and hugs my legs.

i pick her up and hug her.

avery- mommy!
y/n- hi sweetheart
mom- hey honey

she kisses my cheek

mom- wanna stay for dinner? your dad is barbequing ribs
y/n- definitely! let me just change

i put avery down and go upstairs to change.

my parents renovated my bedroom to a guest bedroom.

i still have a few of my clothes here though.

i change into a hoodie and shorts then go downstairs.

i help my mom set the table and put food on the table. then my dad comes in with the ribs already cut up.

y/n- avery dinner

she runs and i put her on the chair and push her in.

i grab her plate that has compartments and put her some food.

i remove the meat from the bone and put it in her plate, i put a little bit of mac n cheese and on the other small compartment i put a little bit of coleslaw and in the other small compartment i cut a little bit of watermelon for her.

i put the plate in front of her and she thanks me and starts eating.

i sit back down and start eating.

y/n- your ribs are literally the best dad
dad- i know

we laugh

mom- how was work honey?
y/n- good getting my paycheck in the end of the month
mom- that's nice! by the way evan passed by before you dropped avery off
y/n- what did he want?
mom- he's inviting us to go to his father's art gallery on the 28th
