i get my sister ready for school and then i make her lunch and we quickly leave the house she sits in front and she puts on her seatbelt and i give her a homemade oatmeal bar for breakfast.

y/n- ok i will pick you up after work ok, don't talk to strangers-
vivien- don't leave the school, if something happens find a teacher and tell them. i know sissy
y/n- good girl

i stop the car grab her bag and run inside the school.

y/n- ok go in
vivien- bye

she waves goodbye and hugs me, i kiss her head and she goes in.

i see her take her sit so i leave the school and go back to my car, i drive off to work and then park my car.

tara- hey girl
y/n- hey
tara- dropped off viv at school?
y/n- yeah

i put my hair up and tie my apron around my waist.

tara- any news from your dad?
y/n- no and i don't care
tara- he didn't even say happy birthday to viv?
y/n- nope

i sigh and i just start working, i put the donuts in the fryer and make fresh donuts.

-after work-

i grab a few donuts and i kiss tara's cheek and leave to pick up viv.

i park my car and see she isn't where she usually is, my heart drops and i quickly get out and go inside the school looking for her.

i pass her classroom and see her inside coloring, i open the door and viv immediately smiles and runs up to me.

she hugs my legs and i pat her head.

mark- i saw her outside and i told her it would be safer if she stayed in the classroom with me until you come

i turn around and i come face to face with the most handsome man i've ever seen.

y/n- uuuum thank you
mark- i would like to talk to you please
y/n- sure um viv sit outside babe this will take only a few minutes

she nods and she leaves the classroom

y/n- sorry but umm who are you exactly?
mark- i'm vivien's english teacher i am also the teacher in charge of her class
y/n- oh-

he raised his eyebrow confused about my reaction

y/n- it's just that i didn't expect such a young teacher to work at an elementary school
mark- how old do you think i am?

he laughs and sits on his chair

mark- anyways uuum i just wanna say that teachers noticed vivien being picked up late and they think you're not responsible enough to take care of her
y/n- i swear i try to come as fast as i can but i can't always finish work at the same time sometimes i'm early sometimes i'm a little late please i swear she's happy with me and safe
mark- look i'm just warning you because they can call cps on you
y/n- i have custody of her they can't take her away from me
mark- i will try my best to convince them that vivien is safe with you but please find a way to solve this problem

he walks me out and i hold vivien's hand.
