Emma Chen:
Saturday, August 29th—
I'm back in the dormitory with all my school supplies. I decided to open the iPad the school gave us and check if they installed anything weird inside of it. Since I work with electricity, I can detect these sorts of little thingys. Once, I found a chip inside a bag of chips. I didn't buy it of course, it was already in someone's cart. I tried to warn them, but they didn't believe me, saying how kids shouldn't make jokes like that. Anyways, I want to go to the forest. I saw it on my way back from school supply shopping. Matthew wants to go too. Selena, however, said she has to go somewhere, so it looks like it's just going to be the two of us. I've never been in a forest before, but it sounds like fun. I bring a small backpack with me.
Ready? I think to Matthew.
Okay. I'll meet you in front of the school, Roy thinks. Ok, I think back.
All twins have the ability to connect with each other mentally. It's telepathy. You don't have to be identical twins or anything, just twins. Triplets or whatever have their own ability, although I don't know what that is. I don't use this ability often. I mean, Matthew is always near me anyways. The boys dormitory is right on the other side of school. However, this ability is useful when my phone dies.
I go to the front entrance of the school waiting for Matthew. When he arrives, he has a pair of binoculars hanging around his neck.
"Since when do you have those?" I ask. I wonder if he's going bird watching or something.
"Remember the spooky shop we went to the other day? You know, the one selling fairy dust and other stuff."
"Oh" I say, "That one." That store has a weird vibe. A+ for scaring off customers.
We walk into the forest. I have no idea how big this place is, but it seems like a long walk in the park. The forest is filled with tall trees. It feels like I'm going into a different world, all the plants here are huge! I find a flower that grows to my neck and an odd looking mushroom that is the size of a chair. Weird isn't it. I've never seen or heard of any of these plants before.
Come here, Matthew thinks. I go over to him. "Look at what this binocular does!" he says, sounding very excited. I take the binocular from him. I'm shook. This binocular is amazing! It tells you information about the object you're looking at. I turn the binocular to Matthew and see that he is labeled Matthew Lin. It also gives other details like Matthew's ability and his level and our family and all sorts of things.
"You better not lose this," I say to him. "It could do some real harm if landed in the wrong hands, but otherwise, this is awesome."
"I know," Matthew says. "I also plan to use this on our missions."
"Not a bad idea," I say. "And don't be shocked when you suddenly lose it," I joked.
"Very funny," Matthew replies.
We spend the next hour exploring the forest. There are a lot of birds in the forest and their chirping sounds very lovely. I've also collected some leaves and flowers for Selena. She loves everything about plants, she says that plants' healing abilities are spectacular. However, all this walking has made my legs sore.
"Let's take a break," I called Matthew. He's been circling a big tree for ages. Matthew doesn't hear me though, he's too caught up in the tree.
"Hey Matthew, can we rest now?" I ask as I walk over to him. "Matt—" I started to say, but my right leg suddenly caught on a branch and I fell. Rewind, I think to myself, and my body is brought right back up. This is the time control I have. I can go back in time, look into the future, control the time flow, and a lot more things. If it is related to time, then I have the ability to use it, and so do everyone else in the Morso family.
