Monday, April 26th—

We're heading to the forest tomorrow. We're stopping the bees from destroying the world tomorrow. We might even die tomorrow. Let me write my will first.

Who am I kidding? I'm not going to die.

The reason why the mission is so pushed back when we could've started way earlier is because Matthew, Emma, and Selena all have issues that they are trying to overcome. Also, preparing for the mission was last minute so that took up some time.

I would've never thought that Emma and Matthew had to go through that disgusting and gross event. I finally know why Emma is so upset and probably why she has so much mood swings. Understandable.

As of now, only Matthew, George and I are going on the mission for sure. I really don't want to go, but I feel like it will distract Matthew from what he's going through for a while, so why not?

I'm on my balcony, looking at the forest. I wonder what tomorrow would be like. What's going to happen? What will take place?

School ended an hour ago and my days have been pretty boring lately. Without the fights with Emma and Matthew, things have gotten so boring. George never argues too much so that's not interesting and I doubt Selena even argues at all, so.

As I'm gazing around, two knives flung past my eye. If I didn't react and move back, I would probably be blind right now. I pick up on of the knives that hit the balcony and it's labeled with Emmaline.

Well, what did I expect? Who else in this neighborhood will throw knives at such accuracy? Also, Emma's name being Emmaline did shock me a little. Emmaline is the full version of Emma, so I have no idea why I was surprised. It just feels weird though.

I look around, but Emma is nowhere to be found. To find her, I jump down from my balcony, not too hard of a task, and walk around.

The school yard is bare so Emma is not there. I then circle the forest and I find her looking at a pond. It's not big, it's pretty dirty, so I don't know what's so interesting about it.

"Hey," I say. My voice trails off because Emma turns around and our eyes catch each other's. Except her eyes look so empty. What happened to that once lively pair of eyes?

"Um, hi," I say. this is stupid, I do't do manners, come on, Roy!

Emma doesn't say anything. She just kicks a rock with her shoe. To be honest, I did not imagine there would ever be a day where Emma shuts up and here it is, but I don't want her to be so sad.

"Want to talk?" I ask. "It'll be better." I give no comfort to anybody so I wonder how offering myself to her will be any good.

She shakes her head and makes a run for it. However, I'm faster and catch her wrist. Emma tries to shake my hand off, but I grasp it tight.

"You are not running away again," I say. "look at Matthew. He's doing great now. How about you? Just looking depressed because of a guy. Woman up!"

She has to learn to cope with it. I did with everything that's happened in my life. I know she can too.

Emma uses her hand to push me away, but I grab her other hand. She's strong, damn it. I have to use a lot of energy to get her to stay in one place. Lifting her head, I no longer see dead eyes, but a broken soul. The sadness in her eyes, the times her heart has been broken. What has she gone through?

"Five minutes," Emma says, her voice low. I brighten up and let go of her. This is the first word she's spoken all week. Finally!

"Are you okay?" I ask. Emma just sales at me. Okay, the answer is obvious.
