George Hum:
Saturday, March 6th—
Class ends early today, like with every Saturday, but I have a task that needs to be accomplished today. Roy's with me and we are going to follow Vicky. Now, we're not stalkers like Emma keeps claiming Roy is, and I don't want her to mistake me as one too, but we have to do this. For the sake of our fellow Dawn's citizens and potentially everyone else in this world, me and my best friend, Roy, will put ourselves in danger and follow the mysterious girl.
"Hurry up," Roy says because I just spaced out. It's a bit weird to see Roy so diligently working on the task, no saying he isn't diligent. Maybe stalking is his thing after all.
We've just left our other friends in order to stalk on Vicky and I feel like it would be better if Emma or Matthew can join us because they appear and disappear all the time. Same for Roy. Like, how can anyone be so sneaky? I want to learn that.
"Did she head into her dorm?" I ask. Roy nods and we now relax, but we're keeping a close eye on the door just in case Vicky walks out again.
"What are we going to get out of her anyway? I've been following her for at least a week and all she's done is go to her dorm and stay there until night," Roy complains.
"You've been following her?" I ask. "I thought you didn't do anything."
"Well, someone's gotta watch her," Roy says. "She's suspicious, that one." I hate to admit this, but Roy does seem like a stalker now.
"You know, Emma's right, you don't have to be afraid of coming out, you know. We can still be friends if this is a hobby of yours," I say. I feel bad. What if Roy is actually this type of person. I mean, I won't stop being friends with him. Roy's always been a good friend to me.
"For the last time, I am not a weirdo," Roy says, steam coming out of his ears. "I will have to shut Emma's mouth one day."
"Good luck on that," I say. I wonder who will win if they do go against each other. Roy is stronger in level, but Emma carries weapons with her. It's not cheating because you gotta do what you gotta do in order to survive in society. That's how I feel about it at least.
"But still, I'm surprised that you were watching her," I say.
"I watch everybody," Roy says. "How else am I supposed to get information for blackmailing?"
"Couldn't you have told me that before I moved in with you?" I ask.
"Too late," Roy says with a shrug.
Because none of us see Vicky coming out of her house or doing anything suspicious in her room—thanks to Roy's ability he got from a kid—I went to buy us some drinks. When I came out though, Roy is gone. Poof! Just like a 3 year old kid who got lost, Roy left without a word.
Eventually, I find him by turning a corner. I was about to call his name when I see Vicky in front of him. She's walking somewhere and Roy turns around to signal me to follow. How did he know I was behind him?
"Where do you think she's going?" I ask. I feel so guilty for following Vicky, but for the sake of justice, I must. Emma said she'll bail us out if we get arrested, which I don't see why we'll get arrested, but it's good to know someone's got our backs. Matthew, on the other hand, told us to wait in jail and if he ever remembers us again, he'll come get us. What a nice person....
"I don't read minds, George," Roy says. "But we can find out." Vicky walks another two streets before hopping on a car. I grab Roy and immediately find a cab. While on the cab, I tell the driver to follow the silver car Vicky is in and he just gives us a weird look.
