Emma Chen:

Thursday, April 1st—

April 1st is here! Yay! It's my favorite time of the year, a part of my birthday and some other holidays, but today will always be one of my top days.

It's 6 AM right now and needless to say, I've gotten like zero hours of sleep. I just can't rest when such a big day is here! I need all the time I can get to help me prepare for today.

I look underneath my bed and pull out a box of crafting supplies. Inside is filled with joke toys, supplies for prancing people, or just items for fun. I also bought some whipped cream yesterday. My excuse was that they are for pies, but obviously Selena saw straight through me as she has known me for years. She let me get away with it, but I'm not going to eat her get away with it. No, no, no! No matter how important that person is, they need to be prayed today. It's me showing off my affection to people, how wonderful!

I've already shipped two boxes of fake spiders to each of my parents and some other family members. I've sent me and Matthew's secretary, Nicole, a box with a balloon inside that will pop when she opens it. It's a bit sad that I can't be in person to watch their reactions, but at least they're still getting the surprise.

I haven't been prankingas many people this year as there is so much on my plate, like the bee issue for example. However, I'm determined to have the time of my life today. I've put my tasks behind me because people need to rest once in a while and this is more important in my opinion, to a certain extent at least.

Right now, I'm filling plastic cups with water and tying them to each other with a long string. There are about fifty cups and they'll be sitting right next to Selena's bedroom door. I wonder how she'll escape her bedroom because if she lifts one of the cups, all the cups will follow it and water will spill everywhere. There are also too many cups to just push away or step over. I made sure of that. By the way, this water is dirty. It's leftovers from yesterday's laundry. The cups have also been stored over the months. I may like to prank people, but I try to be as efficient as possible.

Okay, next up is my dear brother's room. Matthew will hate this.

However, the sad part is that I can't teleport into his dorm. It will be trouble if Roy or George sees me although they probably won't. I need to stay on the safe side though, so the prank will be outside of their dorm. Thus, I have to make sure this is extra special.

I run over to the boys' dormitory and head up their stairs. I don't have the keys to their dorm, but picking a lock isn't too hard. I've done it millions of times. Just for fun and maybe for some other business?

I take out my bobby pins—I only need two of them—and start bending them so I can pick the lock. It takes about a minute before the door finally opens. I push it carefully and throw a random pen inside because I'm afraid that Matthew might have predicted that I'm here.

"Hey," my brother's voice comes from behind the door.

"Ahh," I screech and realize that he has seen through my plans.

"I got you, didn't I?" Matthew says with a satisfied grin. Ugh! Prancing Matthew has never worked after the third time. I have to change my ideas a bit for next year.

"Why are you so smart?" I say. "That's not fair."

"Well, we can still prank Roy and George," Matthew says. He's a big prankster too. Matthew has always been involved in my pranks, except for the ones that are one him. I didn't know if he wanted to be a part of it this year because of all the things happening, but it looks like he hasn't forgotten about April Fools Day either.
