Part 44- i'm back and stronger than ever

Fore warning ⚠️-the 'facts' in this chapter are not true whatsoever just made up by me, to work for the story line

Your pov:

You woke up in yelena's arms, she was still deeply asleep, You peeled her arms off of you, careful not to wake her up, you had a quick shower and made yourself presentable, you wheeled yourself extra slowly down to the kitchen feeling a bit nostalgic, knowing you had to give up your wheels today
It was about 6am and only papa was up, it looked like he had just finished his run
"Hey pap" you said as you wheeled in
"Hey sweetheart, you excited to start walking again?" He asked
"Idk, I'm definitely happy and excited and looking forward to the freedom of having legs, but I'm so used to my wheels now, i don't know how I feel about giving them up, and the physical therapy and the effort I'm gonna have to put in" you rolled your eyes at the thought "but I'm mainly excited"
Papa put a bowl of cereal (choose whatever one you want) in front of you
"Bruce wants me in the lab at 6:30, god knows why, but I better go, don't wanna be late" you said whilst getting up and wheeling away
"Ok, but better not start walking without me and your dad there, I wanna be there for you" you rolled you eyes
"Ok old man" you said in response "be down soon then cause I think he'll wanna start soon"

-in the lab-

"Morning Bruce" you stated
"Morning y/n, ready for today?" He said, sounding not to excited, but you just brushed it off to him being tired
"Of course, but my old parents want to come and watch so we may have to wait a bit to start walking" you said and he just nodded in response "why did you want me down so early?" You asked, then Tony walked out
"We have bad news, and good news which one do you want first?" Tony said, your heart sank immediately
"Umm I'll go bad news" you said bracing yourself for what he was going to say, Tony came over and pulled a chair infront of you
"Like you know, bruce, dr cho, JARVIS and I, did some nerve testing on your legs yesterday and some blood work, just to see where you were at" Tony started "and even though you are really strong and have all the feeling in your legs, we didn't know at the time of when you had first come out of hydra, if the super soldier serum would do anything to help, but it looks like the stab wounds severed your nerves and you have complete feeling in your legs, but will not be able to walk on your own again, without assistance" Tony explained
You were holding it together surprisingly well, but let one or two tears escape
"But the g-good news?" You said, hopelessly
"Yes, about that, when I found out this information, as the genius i am, I made you some leg braces, I got your measurements from your suit, I won't go into full complete detail, but they have FRIDAY (the a.I you 'created') in them connected to you through a pair of earrings and glasses, and you can jump higher than before, and how high you jump and how fast you run is all based on how much pressure and effort you put into your running and jumping, so it's almost exactly like if you were doing without the braces, and it also means you can walk unattended and unassisted" he said, this made you feel a bit better, and they sounded very exciting
"Will be able to walk unassisted at all, like without the braces?" you asked
"Only a couple steps I'm afraid" Bruce said sincerely
"I know my dads wanted to me to wait and come and watch but I want a full, new legs tour, not necessarily walk in them yet, I'll wait for my dads but I wanna know how to use them"
"Ok sure, follow Me" Tony took you over to his personal lab where he keeps his suits 'n' stuff
He has also set up two even bars for you to hold onto when you were to start walking

-Tony explained everything and showed you how to use them n stuff-

"So I heard the news doll, I'm so sorry" dad said as him and papa walked in
"It's not the end of the world, I've got used to the wheels and Tony made me these sick braces that mean I can walk in freely and I can run fast than both of you two put together, I think I'll be fine" you said, trying to see the bright side "thank Thor you two are here I was getting impatient, I almost started without you" you said with a slight chuckle
Tony handed you, your earrings and glasses, you put them in/on, Bruce then instructed you to sit in your wheelchair next to the bars
Tony made the braces so you could put them on mechanically, like his suit, so he made these little circles that rested on your knees and then you press it once and they sort of explode, encasing your knee in a flexible metal that you could move comfortably in, you grabbed the two bars and pulled yourself up to stand
"Hello FRIDAY" you called out
"Hello miss roger-barnes" she said back in her polite Irish accent
"Y/n/n is fine, thanks Friday" you said to her with a small chuckle.
You walked a couple steps holding onto the bar, and thanks to Tony, it felt exactly like walking without the braces and like you had never been injured, you got to the end of the bars and just started walking around the room
"My god Tony, you really are, a genius" you said whilst giving him an approving nod
You jumped a little, and it was like you were on a cloud
"I am going to go and show off to the others, anyone want to come and watch?" You said with a huge smile on your face
"Let's go doll" dad said grabbing your hand
"Just don't push yourself y/n, you are still recovering and you don't want to go back to square one" Bruce recommended, you just nodded in understanding
"Let's go sweetheart" papa said holding the other hand

For the first time in forever (✨frozen✨) you all walked into the kitchen as a little family
"Guys, guys, guys see anything different about me" you said really cheerfully
"Ooo look who's up and walking again" yelena said you came in, she ran into your arms
All the avengers turned around to look at you, and they all started cheering, you were standing behind the island and they didn't know the bad news yet
You walked around the island and looked down
"What are the things on your legs?" Wanda asked
"Well, about that, I will never walk unassisted again" You said with a sad smile "BUT" you emphasised before they said anything "stark being the genius he his, made me these brace thingies, and now I can walk like I was never injured" you said quickly
"I don't know if I should be over the moon or feel terrible for you" Nat said
"I can walk that's all that matters" you said "and I'm back and stronger than ever, physically and mentally, I'm with my family and alive, thats the main thing, I'm alive, can you believe that 3 years ago I was sitting in an orphanage losing all hope of having a family and now look where I am, I love you guys 3000" you said as you were all holding hands
"We love you too y/n/n" they all chorused back

Sorry about how cheesy that last little bit of the chapter was, but I wanted it to be sweet and a bit lovey dovey

And we are down to one chapter left, I have a couple responses (messages or comments) on how to end the last chapter, and I am going to wait for a couple more but I have one solid idea that I'm writing based off of a comment written by @bischboy1917
