Part 10- the tests

You finished getting ready, you couldn't do your hair very well so you went and knocked on your parents door -Bucky and Steve share a room, obviously because they're married, in this story also Bucky still has his long hair in this- "come in" papa called
"Only me, is dad here?" Steve nodded towards the walk-in-closet "thank you"
You knocked on the door and you heard a faint 'come in!' Come from inside
You walked in and you saw dad standing in front of the mirror getting ready
"Only me, I never really learned how to do my hair do you think you could do it for me?" You asked
"Of course doll, come here," he gestured towards the stool that was in front of him "what do you want?"
"Surprise me" you smiled
"Ok," he started to brush your hair and then in the end he did two french-braids one on each side "all done"
You hugged him "it's lovely thank you" you both got up and walked out "hey papa"
"Hey sweetheart, nice hair" you smiled in gratitude "we all better get some breakfast before Tony and Bruce want you" you all headed out and went to the kitchen/ dining room,
"Do you think you two could stay for when I get my tests done, to be honest I'm quite nervous" you say at the island and Bucky poured you some cornflakes
"Of course doll" he passed the bowl to you
"Thank you" as you were eating Sam, Nat and Wanda all walked in and sat at the island next to you
"Hey y/n/n, you ok, after what happened at the after party last night" Nat said, this made you tense up
"Yea, just nervous for the tests today, I mean I didn't think this would happen at all," you answered
"What do you mean?" She asked
"I had never actually thought about it like I did last night, you know, when I got my powers, I had never thought it through, also the fact I'm part of such a great family now, if you had told me 5 years ago I would get adopted by captain America and white wolf, previously known as the winter soldier I wouldn't of believed you" you explained, then, Tony and Banner came in
"Y/n, we're ready when you are" you had just finished your breakfast and you looked at dad and papa and they came round to your side of the island and rubbed your arms to sort of reassure you
"I'm ready now, if that's ok, I kind of just want to get it done as soon as possible?"
"Yea, that's fine, but the testing may take a few hours depending on if we get the answers we need" Bruce, or should I say Dr banner explained, you and your dads got up and followed them down to the lab "so before we do anything to me, may I ask what we're doing today?" You asked
"Sure, today I will be taking your blood and Tony and JARVIS will be doing some scans of your head and abdomen, to try and find out, who your parents were and get more information on your powers and to see if you have anymore, oh, and I almost forgot, we will ask some questions later to see how much you may know" he explained
You took a deep breath "ok, that's sounds like a lot, where do we begin?" You tried to make yourself sound confident to hide the clearly showing nervousness
"It's ok to be nervous y/n, it's a lot to take in" Tony reassured "everything is set up so it's up to you what you want to do first"
You nodded and said "I think I'll get the blood work done and out of the way because it's what I'm most nervous about" you looked over at your dads and they took your hand
Bucky whispered in your ear "если будет больно, я разрешаю тебе ругаться по-русски, и я никому не скажу"
(If it hurts I give you permission to swear in Russian and I won't tell anyone)
This made you laugh and papa gave you a confused but intrigued look "nothing you need to worry about papa"
"Ok y/n if you will sit in this chair, I will begin now" banner explained, you walked over and took your hoodie off, absolutely terrified of what they would think of the cuts on your arms, you handed your hoodie to Bucky and Banner gave you a concerned look and then looked at your dads "y/n what's this?"
"Umm... well what I figured out last night was a lot and I was feeling a little homesick, which ended up with me having a relapse, but papa and dad found out almost instantly so they took care of me" you looked at your dads and they gave you a sad but reassuring smile
"Oh y/n, I get it, sorry you had to go through that," he went and grabbed the needle and tourniquet "sharp scratch"
"Блядь" (fuck) you tried not to move and Bucky sat there with a smirk on his face being the only one who knows what you said, papa and dad held your hands while Dr banner did what he had to do
about 30 seconds later
"All done, you did a good job y/n" he pulled the needle out and took the tourniquet off
"Thanks, Bruce, that was the best blood draw I've ever had, I mean I never like them anyway, but, you were the most gentle" this made Bruce smile
"I'll give you a second to recuperate, and I'll tell Tony your ready for him" Bruce walked into the next room
"Well done, doll you handled that very well" dad handed you your hoodie and you put it back on again, Tony walked in
"I heard we were very brave and we are ready for me and JARVIS"
"Yes we are, and may I ask who is Jarvis?" You asked
"That would be me" a British voice came out of nowhere
"Who said that" you looked around very confused
"JARVIS is my A.I he helps around and he is the one controlling the scanners, if you like to follow me," you followed Tony into the next room and saw a machine that looked like a MRI machine
"Sorry y/n, but your dads can't be here for this next part," he turned to papa and dad "she will be fine, you can can wait in the kitchen" you hugged them goodbye and watched them walk out "ok, if you would just lie here, it will be very loud and it will take a while but if you could be as still as possible, before we begin do you have any questions?" He asked
"Only one, actually it's not really a question, but I find it very hard to keep still so is there anything you can do to stop that?" You explained
"Yes, I can sedate you but I would need to ask your dads" you nodded in agreement
"That's fine" he went out the room and about 4 minutes later Banner and Tony walked back in "good news, they agreed, banner will put an IV in your hand and I'll make JARVIS keep an eye on your vitals" he explained,
"Ok more needles, but I'll survive, will I be asleep? Or will I just be calm?" You asked
"Yes, more needles, but you will be asleep so you wont feel anything for long"
"Ok thanks, what do you want me to do" you were already on the table thing for the MRI so you just lay back and Tony put a pillow under your head, Banner put the IV in and connected it to a white milky liquid and flushed your IV
"Count back from ten for me y/n"
"Ok...10...9...8...7........." you didn't make it past 7
-1 hour later-
You woke up in, what looked like a hospital room with dad and papa lying next to you
"Doll, your awake, how'd you feel?" Dad asked
"отличный" you replied (great) you didn't know why you replied in Russian you couldn't help it
"Y/n can you speak English for me?" Banner came in to check on you
"Я пытаюсь, но это не работает" you said worried
"She said she's trying but it's not working" dad translated
"Ok, this is nothing to worry about, you'll be surprised how common it is" Banner reassured "give her a few hours and she should be fine, y/n you need to rest" you nodded, and closed your eyes and drifted off
-3 hours later-
You finally woke up but this time instead of your parents being next to you, they were standing around your bed with all the Avengers with them
"Y/n, can you speak for me," banner said as he shone a light in your eyes
"We never should of sedated me," this made everyone laugh out of relief that you were speaking English again
"Yes your right we won't do it again," Tony chuckled
"So did we find anything?" You looked at the two smarty pants intrigued. Everyone looked at each other and you knew what that look meant "what did you find, I can handle it, and do NOT sugar coat anything"

Wanted to say I don't know if any of the medical information was true but, I've watched my fare share of greys anatomy so I know a little 😅 (not really)
