Jiara ~ season 3

The promise.

JJ opened his eyes slowly as the sun shone fiercely through the windows directly onto his bruised face.

He yawns whilst stretching out his arms until he notices his and kies body are tangled together on the couch. They must have fell asleep he thinks to himself. She was sleeping so peacefully next to him, so he carefully and gently moved her arms and legs of him so he could stand up trying not to wake her.

He makes his way outside into the sunlight. It was beautifully quiet with only the birds tweeting. He makes his way across the yard to the jetty and walks down to the very end. He sits down with his legs hanging over the water, just taking in the view. He had missed this place, he felt calm.

Then he started to wonder about his dad. What the hell was he doing here? He tried to push that thought from his mind and just enjoy sitting here.

Kies eyes fluttered open , and she look around tiredly. "Shit, J where are you". Her slight panic faded as she spotted a silhouette in the distance by the water. The sight made her smile, he looked peaceful.

How could such a selfless, loving and caring boy be repeatedly treated so so badly. And by the person whose supposed to love him the most, whose supposed to look out for him. The thought made her eyes gloss over, still not breaking her gaze from him outside. He didn't deserve this, any of it. She needed to protect him.

She starts walking over to him, he notices her before she gets there. He looks back and smiles.  She returns the smile and takes a seat next to him.

" good morning m'lady" he says cheekily.
" good morning m'lad" she echoes matching his cheekiness.

"J, about last night"

"Yeah , what about it" he turns away and tilts his head down looking into the water.

"JJ you can't go back there"

"Ever." She adds

"Yeah I know" he says quietly

" J, I need you to promise me"

He turns to look at her and pauses for a moment. She raises her eyebrows and gives a gentle but stern look. She meant it.

"I promise"
