After a few more days contemplating her mums stipulations, Kie had decided to go home. obviously JJ followed her back, supporting her decision, but secretly terrified, terrified of losing her when he only just got her back.
He would have stayed on the run with her forever if it meant they could be together.
He loved her.
But he loved her enough to do the right thing for her, even if it meant sacrificing some of his own happiness to do it. (They haven't actually said 'I love you' to each other yet btw)
Kiara definitely wasn't happy about this agreement with her mum. But she didn't really give her much of a choice. After all, this is what she wanted, to be back in the OBX. Just not like this.
But for now, this is what it has to be like, she's just got to suck it up and deal.
Hopefully it's not for long.

As she walked up to her front gate, JJ trailing behind her, she felt sad, like this was a step back for them after just taking a new step forward.
She suddenly jump into his arms, wrapping hers around his neck in an embrace. He hugged her back tightly, also feeling this weird sense of sadness. Like the freedom they both just lived was now well and truly over.
Kiara connected her lips with his after pulling away. The kiss was full of emotion and longing. It felt like a goodbye.
" so ... I'll , I'll see you later?" She said trying to be hopeful.
"Yeah" he whispered in response.
She just smiled at him and started to walk away, tearing their hands apart.
JJ watched her until she was completely out of sight, just waiting, hoping for her to turn around, run back to him and just tell him this was all just a big mistake.
But .... She didn't.
