JJ woke up abruptly to his phone ringing. He looked at Kiara quickly checking she was still asleep. He wiped his eyes tiredly and got out of bed swiftly, unwrapping kies arms from him and grabbing his phone out of his short pocket that was scrunches up and disgarded on the floor.
" hello?" He said quietly, his eyes not able to stay open.
"JJ"
he stood upright suddenly, shocked and suddenly completely awake.
"Dad"

A few hours later.
Kies eyes opened. Shed woke up with many mixed feelings. Overwhelming sadness about having to leave the OBX and her friends, but also a glimmer of hope and happiness within that, JJ.
Thinking of him she looked to her side to see to her surprise that he wasn't there. This immediately worried her, why would he leave again after last time?
He mum walked in suddenly and Kie pulled the covers over her chest.
" get up kiara, you need to pack"
" for what?" She said confused, she had a week to pack for boarding school and her mum never made her pack so early for holidays.
He mum gave her a weird look. " blue ridge, what did you think"
"Mum that's a week away, so please don't remind me of it all the time, I want to enjoy the next few days with my friends" she replied
Her mum picked up some clothes of the floor, folding them and placing them on her dresser. " look, I'm sorry I said that, but you were upset, and I didn't want to pour salt in the wound, until you had a bit of time to get used to the idea" she said calmly.
" what!" She practically whispers in shock, her eyes glossing over.
" we're leaving today" her mum said leaving the room.
Kie just sat there for a moment, tears escaping her eyes. This can't be happening.
