"Charlotte? Are you awake?" I heard my mother's voice, muted through the door call out for me.
"Why is this door locked? Charlotte, we need to leave soon." I opened my eyes, it took me a second to remember we had come home last night, or that there was an arm around me. I turned my head just slightly, bright blond hair poked out from underneath my blanket. I felt my heart stop, Draco was in my bed, and I had completely forgotten.
"Charlotte?"
"Just one second Mum! I'll be out in a second!" I yelled, but I could barely hear myself over my thundering heartbeat.
"Charlotte, I need to grab something from your room! Can you please open the door?" Mum shouted, I grabbed Draco's shoulder and shook.
"One second!"
"Draco wake up, we slept in, my mum is outside my door," I whispered, so low he probably couldn't hear me, but I was desperate, and imagining every single scenario that could play out, and they weren't good.
"Draco, come on. Please wake up." I whispered, shaking him harder. He cracked open one eye, grabbing my arm to pull me closer but we had no time for that.
"What?"
"She's outside my door-"
"Is Charlotte awake?" My father's voice cut through the panic, and Draco jumped out of the bed, looking for his shirt.
"Where is my shirt?"
"No time! Just hide under the bed!" I said desperately. Draco crawled under my bed, as I ran to the door, waiting a heartbeat more before opening the door.
"Sorry, Mum. I was um- " I said, but she already walking into my room.
"Doesn't matter. Have you packed? I brought you some extra clothes. You needed new underwear, yes?" I wasnt paying attention to anything Mum was saying, all I could think about were Draco's shirt on the floor, and his jacket and shoes by the window.
"Yes-yes." Mum put my clothes on the bed; she frowned as she scanned my face.
"Charlotte, are you okay? You look pale?" My mother asked, walking over to put a hand on my forehead.
"You're not hot, and why are you bruised on your neck?"
"I am?" My hand shot out instinctively, almost trying to cover the marks, "Oh that's right, I am... Fred and George's joke shop items have stained my neck." Mum paused for a moment but seemed to by my answer. Her eyes looked around disappearingly at my room.
"Charlotte, your room is messy. Why are there clothes all over the ground?" She said, bending down and picking up Draco's shirt from the floor, one hand on my bed to brace herself.
But somehow nothing was going my way, and all my neatly folded clothes fell over, right in front of my bed, my evil socks rolling under my bed.
"I'll get it!" I said, jumping towards her. Mum looked at me strangely as we both started picking up the clothes. My hands shaking so bad I could barley pick up them up, as I watched my mom look under my bed for my socks that betrayed me.
"Charlotte..."
"Y-yes?" My voice was shaking.
"Why is Draco Malfoy under your bed?"
"He is?" I whispered, "I had no clue."
"Draco come out," Mum said, and a moment later Draco was crawling out, and I really should have found his shirt when I had the chance.
"Mum! It's not what it looks like!"
"It looks like Draco is in your room without a shirt on," Mum through Draco's shirt towards him, and pointed at the spot next to him. Meaning-shut up and sit down.
