We didn't want it to happen - well, most of us didn't want it to happen. But it was happening. The wheel was spinning. It landed on her face. And the inappropriately jovial siren blared out.
Kira Aozaki, the Ultimate Clockmaker, was the murderer of Homura Yamaoka, the Ultimate Forger.

Kira: Heh... heh... Well, what to say...
Monokuma: I can say that this was indeed a majority vote! Well done everyone, round of applause! Well, mostly everyone.
Ukyo: (sigh) I'm sorry.
I checked the votes again. Five were indeed for Kira. And one was for Sasuke. I had many regrets about this - including, but not limited to the fact that I was one of those who voted for Kira.

Of course Asuka was the one to have voted for Sasuke. I would have voted for him too - if it would have changed anything, to be honest. Mamoru, Homura, I was fully willing to join them if it meant Asuka and Kira could leave together.
Monokuma: So, Kira. I can easily guess who you intended to save if you did get away with it. Asuka Miyamoto, am I right?
Kira: ...
Asuka: Kira, if you did manage to get away with it, then... who would you have saved?
