With a loud crash, the elevator stopped.
Reiji: Hey, Asuka?
Asuka: ...You must move.
Sasuke: All of us have to!
Chie: Kero-chan's a bit worried, ribbit...
Reiji: Look. This is the end. We'll catch the mastermind, okay?
Asuka: You won't.
Sasuke: Oh, shut up! For all we know it's probably you!
Asuka: ...
Reiji: Let's get going.
The doors opened and we took our last steps into the courtroom. It was now devoid of any and all furnishings: only cold steel walls and pillars awaited us. But it wasn't the first thing we noticed, oh no...
It was a horrible sight. Circled above and around us, hung up on the ceiling, were the bodies of those who had died. Mamoru, Shuya, Masato, Usagi, Shouko, Mayu, Nanae, Iori, Tetsuo, Homura, Kira. This was Monokuma's idea of a tribute.
Reiji: WHAT THE FUCK?!
Ukyo: I think I'm going to be sick...
Sasuke: Ew.
Chie: Don't look, don't look!
And there he was, sitting on his throne. Even now I was questioning how he could have got there in such a small amount of time.
Monokuma: Well, Nanae would have spoiled the symmetry, but, you know, she was the only one with a shredded corpse, so...
Now we all realised what he meant. Between the pre-existing corpses were her remains.
Reiji: You're insane!
Sasuke: Geez... Monokuma's one sick fuck, isn't he?
Ukyo: Says you.
Sasuke: At least I don't kill people! Not directly, anyway, haha.
Reiji: You are not helping matters.
Sasuke: You know what they say, laughter's the best medicine, yadda yadda...
Monokuma: Well, guess you've gotta do what you've gotta do! Now then, assemble at your podiums everyone!
We reluctantly did so. Asuka was the first, I was the last.
Monokuma: You begged me for it, so... well, uh... forgot what I was going to say.
Sasuke: You have anything else?
Monokuma: Oh yeah! I do! I'm giving you no introduction whatsoever! You want to find the mastermind, I'm not helping you! Upupupu~
Reiji: Listen. This is why we're here, to figure out which one of us is the bastard who put us all here. Capiche?
Chie: Umm-hmm.
Asuka: Yes. I know.
Sasuke: Of course, we all know that. Shut up and get it over with. Isn't flushing out the mastermind the whole reason why we're here?
Asuka: It is.
Sasuke: Thanks, parrot.
Reiji: (This is it...)
And with that, the final Class Trial... began.
