The Midsummer's Incident (a rework) ( JJ Maybank x Reader )

So there I was stuck at this overly stuffy, completely pointless, patriarchal soiree, wishing I was anywhere else, with anyone else, doing anything that wasn't remotely what I was doing now, this whole thing was and is so fake it makes my skin crawl and makes me want to be sick. My dad forced us to be here dressed up perfectly and matching making us look like a perfect cookie cutter little family, he all but forced Ward to make Rafe be my date if they wanted their business deal to go through, Rafe and I having a clear agreement, this was literally for that reason only, and that once we got through the main chagrin and everything that this was never to be spoken of ever again. My boyfriend JJ maybank was not happy but accepted it given Rafe and I were equally unhappy about the whole thing as well. The only thing that suddenly made this a slight iota better was I saw my boyfriend dressed up as a waiter and working the party, I knew of Jb and Sarah's alter egos Val and Vlad too. To entertain myself I kept stealing glances at him and whenever he'd be looking back we'd make stupid faces at each other in a silent game of trying to get the other to laugh first. But after a while I couldn't find him no matter where I looked, then I noticed Rafe was gone too, then it also dawned on me his lackeys were gone also. That couldn't be a coincidence or a good thing. Thinking fast I nonchalantly nabbed a glass of red wine from one of the trays passing by me, grabbed a small water bottle from the cooler of kids and non alcoholic drinks, covertly emptying all but a quarter of it into a house plant as I made my way to the bar where I knew a few other Pogues who were working. "Hey Kyle do you think you could put like a cup full of the dry ice they're using for the fancy 'smoking drinks' into this empty water bottle and not ask any questions and denying I ever asked you? hmm please, you owe me for me covering for your butt in bio." I reminded him. "Of course, us Pogues have to stick together." He winked discreetly doing as I asked. "Enjoy your drink madam." He wished handing me back the bottle. I nodded my head in thanks then went to ask Sarah if she knew where her Neanderthal of a brother dragged my boyfriend off to. Once she informed me she had seen them headed in the direction of the men's locker room I thanked her and hastily made my way over there after pouring the red wine into the bottle with the dry ice and water then replacing the cap but not tightening it yet. I burst into the men's locker room kicking the door open, it banging loudly on the wall throughly shocking Rafe and his minions who clearly thought I was too lady like or something to be in here. I made sure the bottle was in clear view but they didn't seem to understand what it was nor what it's purpose was. "I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on Somebody's part... I shall be that somebody." I said referencing one of JJ and I's favorite movies Animal House that we'd just watched the previous evening hoping he'd also get the warning that it referenced. Noticing the smirk that appeared on his face followed by him breaking free of the goons taking advantage of them being stunned from my entrance, tucking and rolling behind the row of lockers next to him. I tightened the cap on the bottle and rolled it grenade style towards them as it swiftly expanded then with a bang it exploded coating the boy's expensive suits with red wine that was never coming out, effectively ruining the suits as well as flattening their hair. "Time to go." JJ said grabbing my hand as we ran laughing as we went. "Pope! Kie!" I yelled getting their attention. "Mandatory power hour at Rixton's be there!" JJ finished for me as we ran out the door. Rushing over to his bike and swiftly securing our helmets, I wrapped my arms around JJ's waist as he drove off to the cove, both of us laugh and whooping. Once the last peels of laughter fell from our lips and we arrived at our destination, we removed our helmets and JJ turned to me and scooped me up bridal style twirling me around. "That was awesome, I didn't know I was dating the female Macgyver." JJ laughed carrying us to the cove to await the others. "I thought on my feet quick enough but I wouldn't say I was that good." I snickered. "No no I would I definitely would, what was even in that bottle anyways?" He asked eyes a light with curiosity. "Well considering I was at a fancy party it was all I could get my hands on, red wine, a water bottle from the cooler and some dry ice from behind the bar that Kyle slid me. Dry ice plus liquid equals dry fog, and when capped off in a water bottle will continue to expand until the bottle can't contain it and boom! Wine everywhere, and everyone knows you can't get wine out of expensive fabrics." I explained. "Completely harmless, with a little shock and awe value! I'm dating a diabolical genius!" JJ exclaimed leaning forward and kissing me. John B, Kiara, and Pope came tumbling into the cove laughing as JJ and I broke apart. "Ok who wants to explain the loud bang, followed by the kook king and his lackeys coming out absolutely drenched in wine and looking miserable, like their suit pants were chafing down there miserable?" John B chuckled out while Kie and Pope nodded in agreement. JJ and I shared excited grins before launching in and explaining the whole thing, all of us bursting into a shared round of raucous laughter before calming back down. Pope patted my back congratulatorialy and said "A win for chemistry." We then exchanged hi fives and fist bumps before settling down and hearing what John B had to say.
