"So you guys are just going to leave me here while you face off with one of your most powerful enemies?" I exclaimed. "You'll be well protected love, Nik will leave some of his hybrids on guard." Elijah assured. "Well I figured that was a given, the problem lies in the fact that in order for your enemy to not be able to track you, you guys are leaving your phones here... I'm not going to know if you... if any of you... are going to make it back, until you get back, I'm already so worried." I admitted gulping at the though of losing my family, while I'm not officially, officially a Mikaelson...yet, they all love me and see me as a member of the family regardless and I them. "You have my word, you're not getting rid of me, I'll always come back to you. I Love you." Elijah and I shared a kiss. "Fine... you better.... all of you." I huffed as we walked down to the foyer where the others were ready and waiting. I glanced at all of them, cementing their faces to memory. "I expect each and everyone of you to come back, in one piece, do I make myself clear?" I pouted. "I promise, y/n." Rebekah smiled warmly pecking my cheek, then I pecked hers, then we hugged. I turned to Kol, "All ten fingers and toes, not one less." I sighed then pecked his cheek. "I swear on your favorite sweater of mine darling." Kol nodded pecking my cheek back then pulling me into a hug. Lastly, but not least, Nik. "Mark my words, any of you come back with so much as a split end, and there will be hell to pay." I pretended to be tougher than I was. "Of course love I wouldn't expect anything less." Nik chuckled pecking my cheek, then I pecked his back. He pulled me into a hug and whispered in my ear one last reassurance. "I'll make sure no one does anything stupid." I pulled away with a watery smile. "Now go, kick some ass." I encouraged. One last kiss and embrace from Elijah, and I stayed planted on the porch and watched as they left, watching the car get smaller and smaller until I couldn't see it anymore. One arm wrapped around me and the other found its way to allow me to chew on my nail. I realized this wasn't helpful. I took a deep breath wiping my hands on my sides. What can I do to help? I thought to myself. I looked around taking in the mansion all around me. An overheard conversation from earlier today recrossing my mind. "Niklaus remind me to hire a new cleaning service when this is done, the current ones are slacking." Elijah huffed. "Couldn't agree more, brother." Nik nodded. "That's how I'll help." I nodded to myself. I sprinted up the stairs tying up my hair in a bun, sliding a hairband on to tame the flyaways and changed into cleaning clothes. I'll put all this nervous energy into cleaning, let's do this. I plodded back downstairs connecting my phone to the surround sound and playing an upbeat playlist. Then I gathered the cleaning supplies I needed, scrub brushes, mop, broom, vacuum, bucket, duster, rags, a myriad of different cleansers, a steamer, etc. Then I got down to business. I dusted, swept, vacuumed, and mopped each room. Then I scrubbed all the windows from top to bottom until they were sparkling, next I took the steamer and got all the wrinkles out of all the curtains. I cleaned all the bathrooms, stripped the beds, remade them with fresh linen, washed, dried, folded and put away all the laundry, mended whatever I could find that needed to be mended. I flopped down in a chair in the freshly cleaned living room glancing at the clock. Two hours until I could even start preparing dinner, so I sat knee bouncing, beginning to chew on my bottom lip. What else could I do to kill time? I thought to myself, I stood up and began pacing, then I sped walked to the library and got the books back in order. Once that was done I racked my brain for any other task I could think of. I glanced into Nik's studio as I passed the discolored outline of where his favorite Persian rug used to be glaring at me, the floor itself freshly blood free as I'd gotten the stain out of the wood. I chuckled remembering how upset he'd been about that rug. I wonder? I thought to myself stealing down to the basement. After moving some boxes and other assorted items I finally found it. Hefting it onto my shoulder I brought it up from the basement and into the laundry room. I rolled it out the massive blood stain jumping right out at me. Now anyone who knows me, knows that I have a particular knack for getting hard stains out of odd items. I had a few family secrets and the magic touch. "Let's get you cleaned up and back where you belong shall we?" I spoke to myself, grabbing a bucket of cold water, a scrub brush, 3 very specific cleaners, and a toothbrush. Setting about mixing the cleaners in specific amounts, saturating the stain, letting it soak, I scrubbed in a particular fashion, dumping the cold water, over each place as I scrubbed, again, and again, until finally, the rug was as good as new, not a drop of blood to be found, I even got out an older paint spot that I think Nik tried to just hide with a chair for a bit. Using my hair dryer I sped up the drying process. Then I took it upstairs and placed it back exactly where it used to be using the discoloration line as a guide. Maybe this'll cure his artist's block. I shrugged to myself going to my bathroom, stripping and showering off the sweat and grime. Once I was clean and smelling good. I popped on some comfy clothes and headed to the kitchen to make dinner. After inventorying the pantry, cabinets, fridge, and freezer, I decided some comfort food would do us all well, so I decided on beef Wellington, roast vegetables, mashed potatoes, and fresh greens salad. Starting with the Wellington, I followed the steps I'd been taught, going as far as making my own puff pastry dough from scratch. Perfectly cutting and seasoning the veggies I popped them into the oven together. I kept an eye on the boiling potatoes, and the stewing gravy. I selected the fresh greens and other veggies and washed them all, tossing them in a dressing of my own creation. Placing that safely into the fridge, I turned my full attention back to the stovetop. I perked up as I heard the front door open. "Whoa, it's like sparkling in here." I heard Kol point out. "He's right it's literally spotless." Came Rebekah's Voice. "Y/N? Love?" I heard Elijah call. "Kitchen." I called back. I heard all the footsteps as all the siblings came into the kitchen. "Ooh something smells divine." Kol chuckled immediately coming over to the stove. "Glad to see you all in one piece." I breathed in relief. "As promised." Klaus smirked. "Did you hire a cleaning crew while we were gone?" Elijah asked. "No I - aye paws off, it's almost done." I was interrupted as I reached over and bapped Kol stopping him from trying to steal a spoonful of the gravy. "As I was saying, no, I cleaned." I explained. "The WHOLE house?!" Rebekah exclaimed. "Top to bottom... I was distracting myself and burning nervous energy." I shrugged. "And apparently made dinner... which is?" Klaus asked sniffing the air. "Comfort food. Beef Wellington, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, and a fresh greens salad." I listed off. "Ooh Bravo, love sounds perfect, gosh I can't remember the last time I had beef Wellington." Elijah chuckled a warm smile on his face as he pulled me into his embrace. "I can't remember the last time I had a decent one." Klaus snorted. "Hey- be nice or I'll take back the surprise in your studio." I threatened. "What did you do?" Klaus raised an eyebrow. "Why don't you go see for yourself hybrid." I motioned to the stairs. Klaus flashed away and next thing we heard was his voice bouncing off the walls as he cheered at the top of his lungs. "BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!!" Within another blink he was back in front of me snatching me into a hug spinning me around. "Amazing, absolutely amazing... brother if you don't marry this woman, I will." Klaus chuckled kissing my cheeks. "Mine." Elijah huffed pulling me to his chest. "What'd she do that's so amazing?" Kol asked amused by the scene. "She got all the blood out of my favorite Persian rug, restored it to its former glory." Nik informed. "Well done." Rebekah patted my back. "You're welcome, now you all stink, if any of you want to be able to have any of the delicious dinner I made, you'll all go shower and clean up." I instructed. I watched as Bekah, Klaus, and Kol flashed out of the kitchen. "That includes you too lover." I smiled at Elijah. "Just a kiss before I go, please?" He pouted. "Fine." I playfully huffed giving him a kiss. "Now go on, Dinner'll be done once you've finished." I promised. I quickly finished the potatoes. Plated everything, and arranged it on the preset table. Just as I was placing the salad into place, Kol appeared at the table. "I'm starved." He smiled rubbing his hands then reaching to plate up some food. "Uh Wait for everyone else, I'm sure they won't be long." I remind. After a few more moments Nik, Bekah, and Elijah came and took their seats as well. "Now, we dig in!" I laughed. Everyone gushed over how delicious the food was, how it was the perfect thing after the day they'd had. Once everyone was full and happy, we retired to the parlor where Nik got a fire going and Kol whipped up after dinner cocktails. Curled into Elijah's side, happy and relieved they all came back to me, exhausted from the cleaning, I unintentionally drifted off as they playfully recounted the day's victory.
