I still remember the first time I met Daisy. It was a little over a year ago, at a party.

It was a house party, thrown by one of Mila's tennis teammates that had an off campus house.

Mila, Serena, and I went to the party. We asked Rachael if she wanted to go, but she declined. This was before I met my ex-girlfriend, Brittany- so I was single.

Not that I was looking for anything.

We went to the party, and Mila introduced Serena and I to some of her teammates.

All of a sudden, Mila, in her light pink tank top ticket into a mini jean skirt, exclaimed, "Oh, I see Daisy!"

She ran off, and then came back holding the arm of a girl in a short sleeved gray button up, black ripped jeans, her hair in a night ponytail. She wore glasses, and had a button nose and eyebrow piercing.

"This is Daisy! She's my favorite." Mila smiled at her.

I looked at Daisy. She was really cute. I could feel butterflies start to fill my stomach.

Daisy met my gaze, and grinned at me. "Hi." she said, "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, I'm Cassidy." I said, feeling my body warm up.

Mila said to Daisy, "Cassidy is my best friend! She has been since high school."

I felt my stomach lurch when I saw the was Mila was batting her lashes at Daisy.

She totally wants to fuck her.

Daisy and Mila never hooked up though. From what I could tell, Daisy didn't want to hook up with her. She seemed to value the friendship she had with Mila over a quick fuck that could ruin it.

Even after I met my ex in November, I still felt attraction to Daisy every time I saw her.

So now, being in this situation with Daisy, it almost felt surreal.

A couple of days after Thanksgiving, I was in the living room with Nicki. We were talking about our classes, or lack their of.

All of us roommates were currently not taking our classes, due to everything going on. And I had no idea when we would be again. But that was the least of my concerns.

Surprisingly, Rachael came up to us. She looked really tired. Her hair was a mess, and I could just see the pure exhaustion in her eyes.

"Cassidy."

She said my name with barely any emotion.

"Yes?" I looked at Rachael.

"Let's go for a walk."

I saw Nicki glance at me.

"Um, okay." I said to Rachael.

"Let's go for a walk." How she said that was eerie. Did she kill Mila? Is she going to kill me too on this walk?

Rachael and I walked out of the house, and onto the college campus.

I looked down at the pockets of her sweatpants to make sure she didn't have a knife or something in there.

She didn't speak for a moment. Finally she said, "I'm sorry about my outburst."

I looked at her. "It's okay." I said, "We're all dealing with the loss of Mila."

"Cassidy, I know you were her best friend." Rachael said, "But Mila and I had a...special relationship too."
