TW: This chapter talks about a murder and there is a mention of suicide.

Everything was a blur after I shot the gun and sirens wailed in the background.

All I remember were police running in and the sound of Nicki screaming, "Oh my god! She's dead!"

I felt myself being walked out of the house by unfamiliar hands- and then everything started hitting me.

Candace killed Mila. Nicki helped her. Nicki drugged me. They trapped me in the bedroom. They were going to kill me and make it look like a suicide. I shot Candace.

I killed Candace.

I killed Mila's murderer.

I started to feel lightheaded as everything hit me. I stopped walking, and felt my legs give out.

"We need a stretcher!" I heard a voice yell.

When I woke up I was in the ambulance.

There were three people hovering over me- a woman in a EMT uniform, Officer Fiori, and...Melissa?

"Hey, Cassidy. Hey. Stay with me." Officer Fiori said, her eyes full of concern.

I looked at her and then I managed to say, "Melissa?"

I could see that she had been crying, her mascara stained her cheeks.

"Cassidy, honey. Stay awake. Stay with me. Your dad, mom, and Brian are on the way." Melissa said, but her voice was getting very faint.

And I was out again.

Next thing I knew, I was laying in a bed. I hears monitors beeping around me, and when I opened my eyes- the lights were almost blinding.

"H-hello?" I managed to say.

That's when everything came flooding back to me. Again.

I really killed someone. Oh my fucking god.

"Cassidy!"

I heard my dads voice coming closer to me, and he helped me sit up slightly so I could see who was in the room with me.

My parents. My four parents, in the same room together. That never happens.

I guess your daughter almost dying and then killing someone's else can bring estranged families together.

"Cassidy, honey, how do you feel?" my dad asked me. Yes, he's my dad. But he's also a Doctor himself.

"Thirsty." I found myself saying, "My mouth is dry."

"I'll go tell the Nurse you need something to drink." my dad said, rushing away, "They'll be glad to hear you're up."

I looked at Melissa, Brian, and my mom. They were all looking back at me.

"How did you wind up in the ambulance with me?" I asked Melissa.

Before she could say anything, a younger male with dark curly hair in scrubs walked into the room.

"Hi, Cassidy. My name is Aiden, I'm going to be your nurse today." he handed me a plastic cup with cranberry juice, "Drink this. It'll help with your mouth feeling dry."

I took a sip of the cold, slightly tart, refreshing drink.

"How do you feel right now?" Aiden asked me, unwrapping a cuff to take my blood pressure.

"Tired."

That was all I could say.

"That's expected." Aiden said, "You went through something very traumatic, and your body is now recovering."
