"So she was arrested for stalking...not murder?"

Two days after Rachael was arrested, we officially found out why.

Stalking. And they police were investigating whether it had anything to do with Mila's murder.

Nicki asked the question that all of my roommates were wondering as we stood around the kitchen counter looking at the arrest record.

Daisy glanced at me. We both knew exactly why Rachael was being stalked by Mila.

But I decided that I wasn't going to share that information. If the police were to release it- then my roommates would find out. Even Nicki, one of my closest friends.

"I still think she had something to do with it." Natalie shook her head.

"You seem really strong in your belief in that." Candace said to Natalie, "Why is that?"

Natalie stared at Candace. "She's a weirdo. She's a creep. I've always thought that, and now it's just being proven. She probably stalked Mila the night she did and killed her, smashed her head in with that baseball bat that still hasn't been found."

I couldn't help but wince at how...bluntly Natalie was describing everything. I didn't want to picture Mila's head being smashed in with a baseball bat.

Even though I literally saw the aftermath.

"I don't know, Natalie. You almost sound like you're trying to cover up for someone. Yourself, perhaps?" Candace raised her eyebrows.

I could see anger flash in Natalie's dark eyes. "Don't you dare accuse me of anything. I didn't do a thing to Mila."

"Whatever you say." Candace shrugged, a smirk on her lips.

"Candace, I will literally fuck you up if you say another word." Natalie spoke. I could tell she was on the edge.

"Do that and I'll get my dad to sue you for everything you have. That little family restaurant of yours? Gone." Candace said.

Natalie looked like she was about to lunge at Candace, when Serena put a hand on her shoulder.

"Not worth it, Nat. Walk away." she said, "I'll go with you."

Natalie took a deep breath and Serena walked her out of the room, her hand still on her shoulder.

"Candace, come on. That was pretty fucking mean." Nicki said.

"I wouldn't have actually taken away her family's restaurant." Candace rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, but Natalie didn't know that." Daisy said. She then sighed. "I'm going to go to the gym."

She flashed me a small smile before she left the kitchen.

"I'm going to go check on Natalie." I said, pushing off the counter.

"I hope she's okay." Nicki said, chewing her bottom lip.

"I'll apologize later. Once she doesn't look like she's going to hurt me." Candace said, looking at her phone.

"You should apologize." I said to Candace, "That was low."

She didn't respond.

As I walked away, I couldn't help but think- that's something Mila would have threatened to someone.

Natalie and Serena were up in my bedroom, sitting on Serena's bed together.

I hesitantly walked in.

"Are you okay?" I asked Natalie, sitting on my bed.

Natalie nodded. "I'm okay, thanks Cassidy. Candace just hit below the belt. Threatening my family's restaurant...I almost couldn't believe she went there. But I should've known. She's a cunt."
