June

I watch the man named "Connor" argue with the policeman. So they're all like that here? Ready to fight like assholes for a fucking room? What's the big deal ? I'm allowed to sleep in her dorm, she's not there anymore "Leslie", anyway.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience sir. My colleague will take care of him." Apologizes the policeman.

And as he said, his colleague manages to subdue him by handcuffing him. The tattooed man hurls insults at him and his face, which before showed incomprehension, is red with rage.

He gives me one last look, this time filled with hatred before leaving with the guard. He is crazy.

...

I put my things in the dressing room while my father helps me to empty the suitcase by giving me the clothes behind me.

A heavy silence has settled between us. I don't dare to say another word so I just keep quiet. It is the last time I see him and as usual the atmosphere is icy between us. I don't even know how long I will go without seeing him.

"I'll let your mother know about your stupidity." He says as he hands me my sweater.

I don't show it but my heart tightens painfully in my chest. I admit to being a little surprised that he would bring up my mother even if it was for something negative. Nevertheless, his choice to tell her about the mistake I accidentally made terrifies me. I know she doesn't have a special place in her heart for me, but I don't want her to have a bad image of me as a mindless burglar. I don't back up my words because I know I'm not. That's just what my dad thinks.

He always thinks bad about me.

Even if I tell him the real story, he won't believe me so I might as well let him think that.

Several minutes later, the suitcase is empty. I have finally finished putting my clothes away. I close the dressing room and turn to my father. He is no longer behind me but beside the door. I have a big pang in my heart; is he going to say goodbye to me at least?

"Ah and I forgot. Here's your phone, you'll only use it when you have the guards' permission." He said as he handed me this one.

I approach him and take my cell phone from his hands. The silence returns. He doesn't move and neither do I.

"Goodbye June, I hope that when I return you will have learned from your mistakes." He finally says. After that, he doesn't even bother to listen to my goodbye as he opens the door and walks out like a Sonic.

Was that all?

Not even a hug?

What else did I expect? He only hugs my step-brother.

What an idiot i am.

I sigh in despair. I am now alone, without anyone. I can already feel my tears welling up in my eye sockets but I swallow them back instantly. I've been past the point of crying like a girl for years, and it's not now that I'm forged that my emotions can surface like a flower.

I reluctantly lie down on the single bed in the dorm. I've got too much on my mind and I need to vent, except how can I do that if I don't have Jacob anymore?

Jacob is my best friend since I can remember. He's the one who got the biggest punishment in the group because of this mistake. Compared to him i didn't get anything really bad.

I hope he'll be okay.

And without even realizing it, my eyelids become heavy and the feeling of fatigue appears in me.
