Connor

I sit on the tablecloth that Tyler has laid on the floor. I can't even see people's faces clearly in this night darkness. My two friends: Tyler and Bianca are sitting on the tablecloth next to me. They are talking about a lot of uninteresting stuff. I have my phone in my hands and it shows June's contact. Besides, since she made her sudden entrance in her room, to certainly recover her mobile, I didn't see her again of the evening.

She's perhaps among the hundred residents present here, sitting on a tablecloth with her friend Kat.

I end up, out of boredom, listening to discussions from all sides. It's boring but entertaining. Twenty minutes later, the hired waiters bring us a tray, when I open the lid I discover that it's spaghetti made like in a restaurant. It's been a long time, damn it. My friends start shouting about it and I laugh beside them. This evening is finally starting well.

I then start to eat with the fork the pasta. They are delicious, these cookers are really competent! The last time I attended a meal under the stars was when Leslie was still with us. It was heaven; her long blonde hair was strewn across my chest in thousands. People looked at us as the best looking couple in the house, those were the days, the days I really loved. Today it's different, I'm different. I don't want any relationship and I prefer sex to love unlike before. It's crazy how having heart broken can change a person so much.

I realize that I've been thinking about my bitch ex-girlfriend again. She doesn't even deserve to be in my thoughts, even dead, she is still a bad person and I will never forgive her for destroying me that much.

A rustle me attracts my attention. I take the fork out of my mouth and look up. Black jogging suit and long hair are the first thing I see.

It's her, the green-eyed bitch. She comes in front of me with a tablecloth under her arm with her friend. She doesn't even pay attention to me, but I'm sure she saw me.

I follow her with my eyes; she sits down several meters away from us. The waiter approaches her and warmly hands her a tray of spaghetti. She smiles and in spite of the darkness I can still discern her lips blowing a light 'thank you'.

"What are you looking at ?" Tyler suddenly asks. I turn my head towards him and nod my shoulders, he looks at me questioningly but very quickly gives up and continues his discussion with Bianca.

I stay a moment frozen in front of my screen, trying to formulate an apology that sounds like me. I delete and rewrite the message several times. It is only five minutes later that I manage to find a suitable sentence.

« I lied, your eyes are not ugly. »

Sent.

I turn off my cell phone directly afterwards, so as not to appear suspicious to my two friends. I take a quick look at them and they still look as lost in their conversation, so I turn them away and put it back on the one I sent a text to, further away. My heart beats a little as I see her tapping on her phone. What the hell. I turn mine on again and indeed, she has read the message. I can even see 'is writing' on the top of the screen.

« I definitely don't know how you got my number and what you're trying to imply with that sentence but thank you, it sounds like an apology. »

I admit that a small smile has appeared on my lips. It is discreet but still there. My fingers start moving again as I write sentences on my keyboard.

« Because it is. Now stop ignoring me and let's start over (basically forget that we had a fight and let's be friends). »

« Become what? Friends? But you can see that u and me are impossible. I forgive you but I still have a lot of hatred for you asshole. » She answers a few seconds later.

« We can try, you look credible when you're not a bitch and besides it will save you from me ruining your stay here. So shut up and accept. »

I don't know what's gotten into me to want to be friends with her, but I need it to soothe my conscience, which is strangely too agitated since her arrival here.

« Okay you win. Let's be friends. And stop writing me because I'm eating idiot. »

I chuckle and turn off my phone. When I look up at her again, I meet her green eyes glaring at me. I smirk and she looks away, amused.

"You are weird to look at June, this evening." Says Tyler by fusing me of the glance.

"Yeah, that's because we've become friends." I answer.
