ConnorHaving to talk to this bastard pisses me off more than anything but I'm taking the first step. I'm making a huge effort here!
But luckily, he is open enough to talk and finally he apologizes. He explains to me that he really cares about June and that knowing that I dropped her name in the middle of sex with someone else really upsets him. I had to come up with the worst excuse I could think of and luckily it worked.
This must be the third lap around the field we've done and I still don't feel like I've let go. I need to get ahead of myself and move my muscles a little more if I want to get a good grade.
"Tyler?" I hear.
I turn around at the same time as the person being called out, and sure enough, it's June who appears behind us. Her tired state makes me smile but it immediately fades when I see that she starts to talk to Tyler.
"We don't want you here, get out." I say curtly.
She looks away from me and gives me an annoyed look.
"Connor.." She sighs.
Yeah that's it, all that's missing is the 'kiss me' in front.
"No actually you know what ? I'm the one who's going to leave, I've got some asses to look at." I announced, smirking in my most sarcastic way before I speed up my run to pass them.
I know that line was worthy of a bum trying to make her girlfriend jealous in a romantic movies, but I don't give a shit because I really intend to do it. In fact, I see one right here.
...
The rest of the school class goes pretty well since I am not in June's class. It's only at lunch time that I see her, still with her friend Kat and Bianca. By the way, lately, I think that Bianca has been neglecting us a lot too, but it doesn't matter. She was annoying to play the fool all the time so it's not a bad thing.
"Hey Connor."
I shift my eyes back to the girl who had just spoken to me. To my surprise, it's not Cynthia but someone I don't particularly know.
I give her a questioning look as she shyly tucks her curly lock back behind her ear.
I can even hear Tyler's mocking chuckle from beside me.
"You probably don't know me but... My name is Lizzie and..." She pauses. "Oh no what am I doing here... I'm sorry to have bothered you, I'll go away." She sighs as she walks away.
Normally I would have let her go but today I feel like a player. Well, that's mostly because I noticed that June was watching us from where she's sitting.
I get up from my chair to go and catch her up.
"Wait Lizzie. You're not bothering me, just tell me." I say as I stood in front of her.
I can feel that all the eyes of the people in the cafeteria are on us. That is indeed because we are in the middle of the all the tables.
"Oh.. I see. So I'm with you in art class and I think you're pretty good, so would you like to join our club with my friends there." She formulates.
I arch an eyebrow. Is it really serious? I sigh even more when my eyes meet June's face again, she looks at me and a mocking smile stretches her lips.
I don't even bother to answer and get ready to leave, except that her hand rests on my forearm to hold me back.
"I don't give a fuck about your club, if you must know." I sigh.
"Breathe in and out.." She whispers to herself. "Ok Connor, actually what I meant more was that I'm a girl you probably don't know but I'm in your art class. And my best friend literally forced me to come and make the first move because she said you didn't care about me... When you caught me up and asked to..."
"Get to the point." I cut her off.
"O..okay.. Uh would you like to get to know each other ? I mean... You know about..."
"Fucking ?"
"No.. To become good friends, or maybe more.." She continues shyly.
I was about to reply but someone came and did it for me.
"Get out of here, he already has a girlfriend." Cynthia spat as she leaned against me.
What?
I glare at her, she knows herself that she's talking nonsense because I, Connor Jay, don't belong to anyone and this is not really the time to lie about being Cynthia's boyfriend.
Once Lizzie leaves, Cynthia lets go and stands in front of me.
"I saved your ass, don't offense."
