JuneSlowly but surely, Connor's expression changes as it distorts. He had to know, I had to tell him. I let out a sigh as I sat back down beside him on the bed, this time with my clothes on.
He still doesn't say anything and I can see he's searching for words, but I don't need to hear them. It was to be expected, our story was not going to stay here forever.
He leans his head against the headboard of the bed and I take the opportunity to take his hand and place it on my thigh while contemplating him. His eyes shine, I can't tell if he wants to cry or not.
"I'm sorry." I hiss, stroking his hand.
"It had to happen." He replies in a weak voice.
I nod my head.
"Where do you live, June?"
I smile sadly.
"Pretty far from here."
He nods.
"I'll come of age in a year. I'll get out of here and then go live in London." He does.
"London.. In Europe."
"Yeah, away from my dad." He finishes his sentence by wrapping his arms around my shoulders to place me against him.
My heart speeds up and the consuming feeling inside me, knowing I'll never feel this again breaks me even more.
"You're going to keep texting me aren't you?"
"Definitely, but it won't be like.. Usual."
"I know, that's why I'd like to know if.. Would you like to join me, later.. To London ?"
We stare at each other for a few minutes before I flash a shocked smile, he's embarrassed. It's crazy how he makes me lose my temper.
"Are you seriously asking me that Connor ?"
"Yeah seriously. Look June, I may not be able to show you enough since we met but there's always been something about you that attracted me. Not your looks even though you're amazing, but your person and that's what makes all the difference to my previous relationships. Believe it or not, I love you for real."
My heart does more than one turn in my rib cage. Did he just make a statement to me? He feels exactly the same way about me? Wow.
His intense black eyes are staring into mine, holding onto mine. I don't want to let go of them.
"So. Would you mind?" He asks several minutes later, his voice unconfident, in order to break the silence that lulls us.
My cheeks then turn red, truly aware of what he has just said to me and in response I throw myself at his lips.
We kiss so passionately that my soul literally escapes my body. I am aware that this is a goodbye kiss.
