"The fuck do you mean I'm not going to Volterra with you?" He almost yelled, me flinch. He saw me and calmed down a little, sitting back on the bed.
"Alice and I were talking, and she thinks only one person should go with me."
"Me."
"Ye- NO! Not you Em."
I scooted closer to Emmett and put my hand on his leg.
"It won't look good if you leave for a week again. People are going to start to get suspicious."
"I don't fucking care," He sighed and rolled his eyes.
I laughed sadly. "But I do. I don't want you ruining your eternity for me. I'm taking someone else."
"Fine," He said and stood up to walk out the door.
I couldn't move. All I could do was watch as I saw his hand pulling the door shut and hear his footsteps as he ran away. My breath started to shake as I closed my eyes and flopped down on the bed. I prayed this was all a dream. It had to be a dream. How else could you explain that I'm a newborn vampire who's destined to die by the hands of my new people's cops, and I have a mate who's mad because I won't let him come to watch me die?
God. If I was still human, I'd be shedding tears enough to make a river. My life right now was so fucked up and the only time I don't want it to end, it's destined to do so, while erasing the memory of everyone I knew.
To cheer myself up, I decided to quickly go hunting. I didn't bother getting a cub or some shit, I just found myself a couple deer. I went pretty far and heard a huge growl, so I quickly ran back to the big house.
I didn't have anything else to do, and I knew Emmett wasn't there, so I ran up to Alice's room to continue our plan. Maybe she had come up with some ideas for me. Maybe someone knew how to make this all better.
I knocked on Alice's door before entering, even though she probably knew I was there. Her and Jasper were sitting on their bed, legs intertwined. Alice was on a tablet, crazily dragging her finger along the screen while Jasper was reading a book, flipping the page literally every five seconds. A stack of books was on the table next to him.
"Hey there!" Alice looked up and found me. "I was wondering when you and Emmett would be done."
I so fucking hate that she can see exactly what's going to happen to me and Emmett during those moments. I pushed past that future conversation, and signaled for her to join me outside. She gave a quick peck on the cheek to Jasper and he smiled a little, before letting her go and returning to his book.
As soon as she shut the door behind her, she started talking.
"The cottage isn't safe because Emmett might go back there, and Edward's here so we can't talk here unless you want someone to try and convince you not to go through with your plan."
"Let's go hunting," I smiled and dragged her out of the house. Alice looked at me, confused, until she realized what I wanted to actually do, and she quickly agreed.
I had ran with Alice a couple of times before, when I wanted to go hunting and Emmett didn't. I always thought it was calming with her there, like we were doing yoga. It wasn't a race, it wasn't someone trying to catch up with the other. We were pretty much the same speed, so neither of us felt out of lace running with each other. It was just two vampires, escaping the world around them to chill with one another.
after about five minutes, Alice stopped me.
"It's safe. Edward's good, but not that good." all I could do was nod. Butterflies were swirling in my stomach, and I felt like when I ate that stupid brownie with Em. "Did you decide who you wanted to bring? We can't keep going until you know."
