Steve, Robin, Nancy and Delilah all arrived to the house that was now covered in vines. Steve led the way, he didn't say anything but they knew from the way he had stepped over them, to do exactly what he did. Robin went after him, Delilah was petrified since Robin was extremely clumsy but she made it, she went next, Nancy went last. They all made it.
Steve began the walk up the stairs, again they were all watching and timing his footwork so they could do the same. He shone his light on the attic stairs where the red flashing thunder was back again. They knew he was there. Steve stood at the top, helped Robin up, then grabbed Delilah's hand to get her up the last two steps but held it a little longer. She didn't want to let go, neither did he, so she used her spare hand to pull Nancy up.
Once they were safely at the top of the stairs, they took out their weapons, braced themselves to go upstairs but were interrupted by the ground rumbling yet again. Steve grabbed Delilah, she grabbed Robin and Robin grabbed Nancy. They were all sandwiched together, afraid that one of them would plummet down the stairs and be captured by the Hive Mind. "Alright, we're good" Delilah whispered through a smile, she turned to Robin who was sending her a panicked smile, she couldn't read why she was smiling like that until one of the vines wrapped around her leg and sent her into the wall. She was stuck.
"Robin" Delilah shouted, trying to be careful where she stepped. "Just a little tied up Delilah" the girl joked, both girls would try and find the light in everything, it's what made them such good friends. Her arms then got restricted which sent her into full panic mode. "Steve ! Nancy ! Delilah !" she shouted as Steve and Nancy instantly ran over and began hacking at the vines to get her off. "Watch where you-" she began as a vine came out of the wall, grabbed Steve and began restricting him. "Step" she whispered before looking at where Nancy's feet were. She refused to look at Steve, she just assumed it was his hands and legs that were tied but she wouldn't dare move incase she stepped in the wrong place. "No" Nancy whispered, looking at Steve as Delilah tried to warn her to watch where she stepped but it didn't matter. Nancy moved, her leg was grabbed and she was sent flying into the wall. Again, she refused to look, afraid of where she'd put her feet.
By the time she eventually looked at them, they all had vines around their necks, arms and legs. "I'm going to get you guys out of this" Delilah said through hitched breaths. She never had to be the hero before but she would that day. She grabbed the spear Steve had discarded once being grabbed and went to cut through one of Robins captures, but a vine came straight out of the wall and grabbed her too.
"Okay, so I've decided it's not nothing to do with footing" she said panicked as Robin laughed. "Really ? I would've told you that if I wasn't being suffocated" Robin tried to say, they were all being suffocated, no one could really talk. Delilah and Steve had made eye contact, they could do this thing where they'd talk with their eyes. Previous to that day, the last time they did it was in Steve's car. He saw nothing but pain in her eyes, he still saw it but it was now glossed over with hope. She got back the sparkle she had lost all those days ago. When she looked at him, his eyes were telling him that he loved her. There was no determination, no wanting to be a hero, just pure love and adoration. The woman he loved was about to killed for the millionth time, he couldn't let that happen, he just couldn't.
The pressure around them was getting worse, Delilah was sure, this was the end but the vines were dropped them all of a sudden. They descended to the ground and the vines slithered away. They were all coughing and trying to catch their breaths. "I don't believe in a higher power or divine intervention but that a miracle" Robin managed to say as they all stood up. "Then we better not waste it" Nancy said coldly, she got her gun ready, Delilah took out hers while Steve and Robin got out their weapons. "Phase Four" Steve said softly. "Flambé" the remaining girls said in sync.
They walked up the stairs and into the attic where the monster who'd been haunting her, floated at a height, connected to vines. This was who she came in contact with and she couldn't believe it. She took a step back, afraid and bumped right into Steve. "What's wrong ?" he whispered as she kept her eyes forward. "I spoke to him, I saw him, now he's here" she said honestly as he smiled. "Now you get to torch the bastard"
Robin put down her backpack where she and Steve grabbed their vodka weapons. Robin took out a lighter and lit the fabric on Steve's. He took a step in-front and flung the weapon at the monster. It felt like time stopped as it flew through the air but it landed right on his face. The monster was covered in flames and screaming in pain. He broke from the vines and flew to the ground, still on fire. He looked up to see the four of them standing there. "Delilah" he snarled while standing up. She hid behind Steve as Robin launched her weapon, hitting him again which made him bend over in pain. Nancy walked forward with her gun pointed at him and began launching bullets, he was still jolting backwards. Delilah took a breath and walked up next to her and began doing the same. Vecna kept getting up as they kept launching bullets. He let out a scream, still looking the girl dead in the eye as she and Nancy continued to launch bullets. Nancy let out one more that was so powerful it threw him out the window and out of the house. He was on remains on the ground outside.
"H-holy shit" Delilah whispered as they all smiled at her. "We did it" Steve whispered back as they all wrapped each-other in a hug. They ran out to see Vecna's body disintegrated on the ground, there were no remains of him. They did it, they killed Venca.
They were about to leave when the clock began chiming. "Four chimes"Robin stated as Delilah's face dropped. "Max" she whispered as the ground split beneath them. A red opening had appeared which split the building in half, they were oblivious to the fact that it was happening all around the world. They were all clinging to each-other again, they had no clue what was about to happen but believed it was the end of the world as they knew it.
