"Can you like not sit on the ledge you idiot, they'll see you" Dustin asked his sister since the pair were on the roof examining a storage facility some armed Russian Guards were protecting. "Did you not see the storm last night ? It's soaked down there, I'm not getting dirty" she protested since her brother was lying on his front holding binoculars. "Would you rather get shot or be dirty ?" he asked as she sighed before lying the same way he was. "Come on. We've scoped it out. It's time to tell Robin and Steve about it" he said while getting up as she rolled over so she was on her back and yawned. "You brought me out here at 8am to scope out Russians for three hours ?" she asked as he shrugged before pulling her up and back to the back room of Scoops Ahoy.

Delilah, Robin and Steve all sat on chairs, Delilah had her legs on the table while Dustin paced around the room informing all of them on what they saw. "That key card opens the door but unfortunately, the Russian with the key card all has a massive gun. Whatever's in this room. Whatever's in those boxes. They really don't want anybody finding it" he explained as Delilah took the hat Steve was spinning on his hand and placed it on her head before going back to listening. "But there's gotta be a way in" Robin said, letting it all sink in as Delilah nodded. "Well, you know" Steve said while leaning foreword. "I could just take him out" he said as Delilah burst into laughter. "Take who out ?" Robin asked as he looked at her like it was obvious. "The Russian guard" he said as Delilah laughed harder. "I'm going to piss my pants" she howled as Steve just swatted her but she continued laughing so they all gave her a minute until she calmed down. "Anyway, I sneak up behind him, knock him out and take his key card. It's easy" he said as Delilah started laughing again but was instantly shushed by Dustin. "Did you not hear the part about the massive gun ?" he said to Steve since he clearly hadn't thought it through.

"Yes, Dustin, I did. Can you shut up and stop laughing for a second Delilah" he said since she was sniggering to stop herself from having another laughing fit at the thought of Steve going up and attacking the guard she saw earlier in his Scoops Ahoy uniform. "And that's why I would be sneaking" he said as she raised her eyebrows interest. "And tell me this. Have you ever actually won a fight ?" her brother asked as her jaw dropped. "Oh" she said shocked. "Okay that was one time" he said as Dustin shook his head and said it was "Twice, Jonathan, year prior" which just made Delilah shake her head.
"Jonathan Byers. Jesus" she whispered but was ignored. "Listen that doesn't count" he argued as Dustin shrugged. "Why wouldn't it ? Because it looks like he beat the shit out of you" he said but Steve just swatted the curly haired girl before she could even laugh at his defeat.

Dustin started describing the injuries Steve acquired from Jonathan Byers while Steve tried to justify that it didn't count but Robin tapped Delilah on the shoulder and nodded towards the air vent above them. "That just might work" Robin said while running out to the tip jar and grabbing what she could carry. "Robin. Hey. What are you doing ?" Steve shouted. "I need the cash" she shouted back about to run off. "Half of its mine" he said as Delilah shook her head. "All if it's mine. I've been surviving ice cream while you two have been playing spies" she said as Steve asked Robin where she was going. "To find us a way into that room. In the meantime, sling ice cream, behave and don't get beat up. I'll be back in a jiff" she said before running off leaving the trio there, shocked.

This gave Dustin the perfect opportunity to lick the ice cream scoop. "Oh dude, see I told you Delilah. I'm going to be serving the population of Hawkins Henderson" Steve said to Delilah who just smirked before Steve out the scooper back into his pocket.

"Technically, it's your own fault. You're not washing your utensils, I'll have to call the manager and get you fired" she said as he just laughed. "I'm serious, I think I want to work here now. Wouldn't it be so cool ? Delilah on a little name badge. I can see it" she said as Steve laughed. "Your names too long" he joked as she nodded. "It may-be but I can put Del or maybe Lilah. And I sure as hell could pick up guys better than you can pick up girls, not that I'd have the time of course because the next time you'll me it'll be my Christmas break from Yale" she said as Steve nodded. "Study hard" he said sarcastically as she smiled. "About Yale-" Dustin began but a customer had come in and Delilah went to serve them so Dustin pulled Steve into the backroom.

"Don't encourage her with the Yale stuff" he whispered as Steve raised an eyebrow. "Why not ? She had hope" he said as Dustin let out a loud sigh. "Delilah applied to nearly every college in the country, none of them accepted her. My mom didn't want to make her completely depressed this summer so she didn't tell her she received a rejection letter from Yale too" he whispered, obviously feeling guilty as Steve looked out at the girl who was glowing from thinking about starting the semester at Yale once it all got sorted and her letter got sent to her. "Are you two not like crazy smart ?" the boy asked as Dustin shook his head. "She knows she only has a 1.9 G.P.A. She knew she wasn't getting anywhere but one thing she's always had is hope" he whispered back, of course, he felt bad but he'd been told it was harmless. "Dude, that's like really fucking sad" Steve whispered softly, now he was whispering

She's know by the end of summer that there wasn't going to be a last minute acceptance letter waiting in the mailbox and she'd still keep her happiness therefore it wasn't hurting anyone.
