"It is truly fascinating what twenty bucks will get you at the county recorders office" Robin said while opening up a map on the table in the back. "StarCourt mall" she said once it was laid out on the table. "The complete blueprints" she said while taking a step back as Dustin smiled. "Not bad" he said as Delilah shook her head.

"Not bad ?. Robin you're a genius" she said. Her whole face lit up like a Christmas tree and Steve noticed. He was starting to notice her a lot more which he hadn't in High School. He noticed how quickly her mood could change and the visible signs. In just the couple of days he'd known her, he'd seen her sarcastic average self, the fear in her eyes once she realised the Russian fiasco wasn't just some dumb conspiracy and when she became afraid, she was quiet.

It was weird to Steve that he was noticing the girl. A girl that if he was introduced to a couple of years ago he wouldn't be seen sitting next to incase it affected his social status. She wasn't going to FurDuf and she wasn't going to Yale. She wasn't smart but she was filled with this burning hole that was still going to go to the Ivory League school, that her acceptance letter was simply just sent to the wrong Delilah. She was beautiful in her own way. It wasn't Steve's typical idea of beautiful but he was slowly finding a new meaning to the word and that was her. Of course, he'd never ever admit this.

She had a massive fear of rejection, this showing in every aspect of her life and he was afraid of what the repercussions would be if his old friend group knew he had feelings for someone like her. However feelings couldn't be ignored, no matter how hard they tried.

"So, this is us, Scoops" Robin explained, snapping Steve back to reality but he couldn't help but glance over at the girl who was so proud of her friend for finding such a thing. Her happiness seemed to be radiating around the room. "And this is where we want to get" the girl then explained while grabbing Delilah's finger to keep it on the destination they wanted to get to. "I mean I don't really see a way in" Steve said confused. "There's not" Delilah said while looking at the blueprints again. "That's if your talking exclusively about doors" Robin added before opening out the map further. "Fucking genius" her friend whispered. "Air ducts" Dustin said while smiling as Robin nodded. "Exactly"

"Turns out this secret room needs air just like any old room" the girl then explained while walking over to the vent. "And these air ducts lead all the way there" she further on explained while drawing the route one would have to take. "Wow. I mean. I don't think anyone else could've figure that out" Delilah said. She was genuinely proud of her friend, her friend who figured out the thing they thought nobody ever could. But that was Robin Buckley all over, she always did the impossible in Delilah's eyes.
Steve had a screwdriver in his mouth as he took the air ducts off the wall. "Flashlight" he managed to say to Delilah who was holding the ladder. "Flashlight" she said to Dustin who handed it to her and she handed it to Steve.

"Yeah I don't know man. I don't know if you can fit in here. It's like" the boy said, shining the light into the air duct. "Super tight" he finished as Dustin shook his head. "I'll fit" he said trying them all. "Trust me. No collar bones remember" he said as Steve got down. "Oh I remember alright you used to enlighten people whenever I tried to make a new friend" the girl said while shaking her head. "Uh excuse me" Robin said obviously confused but Steve took over. "Oh yes uh. Yeah he's got some disease" Steve said questioningly as Dustin started to climb up to ladder. "Chry... uh it's Chrydo uh" he said while nudging Delilah trying to ask for help.

"Cleidocranial Dysplasia" the girl said with her arms folded as Steve nodded. "Right. I knew that. I just couldn't pronounce it" he said as she nodded. "Sure you did" she said while tapping his shoulder. "He's missing bones and stuff. He can bend like Gumbo" he finally explained as Robin looked at him. "You mean Gumby" she said as Steve said he was sure it was Gumbo. "It's Gumby" Delilah protested but they were interrupted by Dustin telling Steve to shut up and push him which the boy did. "Not my feet, dumbass, push my ass" Dustin said. Getting annoyed as Delilah just shook her head. "Oh-oh wow. This should be interesting" she said while standing next to Robin waiting for the scene to unfold.

"What" Steve said, clearly taken off guard. "Touch my butt ! I don't care" her brother shouted as she shushed him. "Dustin you're shouting that into air ducts. Do you know how many people can hear you ?" she shouted at him but he ignored her. "Come on, harder" Dustin shouted as Steve had to shout back that he was pushing. "Push harder" her brother screamed. "You're playing with my legs" he added, clearly annoyed as Steve shook his head. "I'm not playing. I have terrible footing" he answered as Delilah just shook her head. "This is something TV could never deliver" she joked as Robin started laughing along with her. It ended in Steve saying he was going to shove Dustin in and Dustin saying he was ready. They kept trying until the bell at the front was being dinged and alerted the two girls.

"Ahoy, sailors. All hands on deck" Erica said. Ready for her samples as Robin looked at Delilah. "Are you having the same idea ?" she whispered as the curly haired girl shrugged. "That the samples need a two per customer or something rule put in place" she said as Robin just shook her head. Erica was called into the back room and given the flashlight to see if she thought she could fit in. She climbed up a couple of steps before scanning the inside with a flashlight. "Yeah I don't know" the girl said once she got down. "Well Lilah. You're next" Steve said as the girl shook her head. "Fuck no. If Erica. A child, can't fit. How am I going to ?" she began but was interrupted.

"You don't know if you can fit ?" Dustin asked. "Oh I can fit. I just don't know if I want to" the girl said as Delilah smiled. "I like her" she said before getting elbowed by Dustin and Steve who she was standing in the middle of. "Are you claustrophobic ?" Robin asked with her arms folded causing the girl in front of her to start sniggering. "I don't have phobias" the girl said confidently as Delilah again smiled. "Teach me your ways" she said as Steve nudged her. "Shut up" he whispered as she stuck her tongue out at him.
"What's the problem ?" Steve said, going back to Erica to try and figure out how to get her into the air duct to get the rest of them into the Russians storage room. "The problem is, I still haven't heard what's in this for Erica" she said while pointing at herself. "I like her. I really do" the curly haired girl said but Dustin just sighed before pulling her outside so they could persuade Erica.

The girl must've sampled five different ice-creams. Delilah, of course, picked up a chocolate filled tub with sprinkles and ate it while they talked. Steve pushed a banana split towards the girl who technically had all of the power over the four. Erica was quick to push it back. "More fudge please" she said as Steve looked at her, completely unamused. "Go on" the girl said as Delilah tapped Steve. "Yeah. Go on" she said sarcastically as the boy took the banana split and pulled Delilah up with him.

"You're the one who made the split without her requested fudge content. Don't drag me into it" she said as he raised an eyebrow. "You want to go over a plan you already know ?" he asked as she sighed before willingly getting up and walking over.

She picked up the bottle of fudge and went crazy. "My turn" he said while grabbing the bottle and covering it in even more fudge. "You got a little something" she said which caused him to stop and look at her. "Well that would've been embarrassing if you didn't tell me" he said as she nodded. "Right there" she said while booping his nose before picking up the banana split and carrying back over.

"Blame Steve if it tastes like shit" the Henderson girl said while pulling her hair into a bun on top of her head. "Can you move your birds nest I can't see the prints ?" the boy joked while pushing her head out of the way. "Keep pushing me Harrington" she said while doing the same thing back before averting their attention back to the three infront of them. "It seems like my ability to fit into that little vent is very valuable to you all" the girl said as Delilah nodded. "It really is. You can't spell America without Erica. See Dusty Buns. It didn't take me about three seconds to figure that out and you went to Camp Know Nothing" she said as he just flipped her off before going back to the conversation. "So. You want my help. This USS ButterScotch better be the first of man and I'm talking free ice cream for life" she said while eating the cherry that was placed on top of one of the sundaes. "Doable and reasonable. We have a deal" Delilah said as Steve swatted her. "You two aren't working her after summer. It's an empty promise. The kids gonna get loads of those" she whispered as Steve nodded. "We have a deal" he repeated while smiling at the girl who nodded before digging into the banana split.
