The events were being ruled as an earthquake, she and Dustin were going to join their friends at the Wheeler house to help Karen sort through her items for donations for the survivors at the High School. Both Henderson's had stayed up all night, swapping memories about Eddie. Not only did Dustin learn more about Eddie, he learned more about Delilah. She was heavily bullied in High School and he never knew. He had an idea from the way Eddie spoke but never knew the extent, not until the night before. The girl was an asshole to him because everyone was an asshole to her and she'd never forgive herself for it.
They were loading boxes into Nancy's car, she wasn't herself and her brother was putting on a brave face. She was staring into space, Steve noticed and came over. "What's wrong ?" he whispered as she let out a loud sigh. "Eddie died" she whispered back annoyed as he shook his head. "Not here" he said a little louder as she rolled her eyes. "Not here ? Where then ? Why's nobody showing any fucking emotion about him. Did nobody care about him ? After all he did ?" she half shouted, he pulled her further to the side then. "Of course we care but you've seen the town. It's a hick riot out there for Eddie's head on a spear. We can't talk about it" he said honestly as she laughed. "Tell them to go through the opening in Eddie's trailer and they'll find his head, they can put it on a spear then. We need to keep him alive" she said adamantly as Steve nodded. "And we will, after we do this"
"Did somebody order a pizza ?" Karen Wheeler asked as all of the teenagers turned to look at the street where a yellow van was coming towards them. "Pizza ?" Dustin asked confused as the van came to a stop and El, Mike, Jonathan, Will and a random boy stepped out. Everyone was smiling at each-other, in shock. They all ran to each-other, nobody hugged her though, they didn't know her until the random boy walked towards the car.
"That shit was fucking crazy man" he said as Delilah raised an eyebrow. "Sorry dude. I'm Argyle, I just heard there was a curly haired girl who liked the devils lettuce. Have you ever tried Purple Palm Tree Delight ?" he asked as she shook her head. "Extremely missing out" he said while shaking his head. Dustin's face had dropped from a smile then the people who'd just arrived in the van were gone to the hospital. Max had died for over a minute while under Vecna's attack another thing she wasn't told.
Delilah had been at the hospital because of her arm, it was now in a cast and had been snapped back into place. She thought that's why she wasn't told about Max but couldn't help but wish she had just told Max not to go through with it, that she'd do it instead.
They arrived at the High School, she followed her brother, the man she loved and best-friend into the school, she couldn't carry anything, she felt useless. She followed them up to the desk and stood behind them as Robin explained what they had and they were thanked for it. "Is there anything else we can do to help ?" Robin then asked as she, Delilah and Steve were led to the back. She was standing with Steve, attempting to sort through clothes while Robin made sandwiches, that when Delilah noticed Vicky.
"It's happening" Steve sung into her ear as she smiled. "I don't think she'll be a town pariah" Delilah sung back as they watched like proud parents. Delilah was over the moon to see Robin happy and falling in love. The girl watched as Delilah got the outcome she always wanted, she sat on the sidelines for years and now Delilah was finally able to do it for her.
It was complete bliss until everyone ran outside to see what looked like snow. Robin, Steve, Dustin and Delilah's eyes all found each-others.
This wasn't snow and it was happening again.
They were not the heroes they all thought they were.———————— Until Season Five—————————
