"Okay and was I right about your welcome home surprise ?" the girl said into her walkie talkie as she walked around StarCourt mall for the second day in a row. She communicated with her little brother through Walkie Talkies sometimes. Their mother bought them both one each for Christmas one year and Dustin tweaked them so they found communicate from a further distance. It kept them both at ease knowing that they could contact each-other if they felt endangered or just needed each-other but they'd never admit that.
"You were and moms not impressed that you spoiled it. Nobody is" he said unamused as she scoffed. "Did you really think I'd leave my little baby brother feel isolated on his first day home. Anyway, how was your conversation with Susie Poo last night ? I heard you climbing in the window" she then asked, he went silent for a second before hearing a muffled "the connection broke" before walking into Scoops Ahoy where her brother was talking to Robin. "Is who here ?" her friend as her brother confused so Delilah just stood back trying to see what was about to unfold infront of her. She thought he was looking for her until the back door burst open until Steve bolted out shouting an assortment of her brothers name and "he's back", then something about his new job before breaking into an imaginary light-saber fight.
She looked at Robin, Robin looked at her, an explanation was owed immediately. Neither of them knew what to do except keep watching this imaginary fight. "How many children are you friends with ?" Robin asked confused but her voice was laced with sarcasm as Delilah walked up to the counter. "I did not expect this" she said smugly with her hands in her back pockets as Dustin rolled his eyes. "What are you doing here ?" he asked as she pointed at Robin. "Friends ? You have those ?" he asked pretending to be shocked as she kicked him in the shin causing him to shriek and Steve to look at like she was a danger to the world and as if she'd ripped his child out of his arms.
"What ?" she asked confused as he stared at her. "Not cool. Why are you kicking children ?" he said protectively as she rolled her eyes. "I'm allowed to kick my brother" she said like it was obvious as Steve and Robin looked at the pair confused. "Brother" they shouted in sync as Delilah looked at Dustin. "Steve, this is my sister Delilah" he said disgusted as she smiled. "Wonderful to see you making friends with my child brother Steve" she said dwelt as he sighed before making Dustin a banana split and walking out leaving Robin alone behind the counter.
"Since when is Dustin friends with that asshole ? Why is Dustin friends with him ?" Delilah asked confused as Robin laughed. "Since when is Steve's child friend your brother ?" she joked as the girl nodded. "Touché" she answered while hoisting herself up and sitting on the counter. "Are you still like obsessed with him ? We were totally obsessed with him in High School" the curly haired girl said as the other quickly shook her head. "N-no, he seems alright now though" she said truthfully as Delilah shook her head. "Mine turned into hate" she said as Robin raised an eyebrow. "But you had the biggest crush on him in High School" she said while swatting her as Delilah nodded. "I've left now though. What did he ever do for me to like him other than look pretty in English class. He sure as hell didn't do anything for me when Carol used to bully me. He actually sat there and laughed and I'd lap it up because at-least I had interacted with him that day"
"I still don't know how I feel about their little friendship" she said while hopping off the counter leaving Robin there and walking out to Steve and Dustin. "What are we talking about ?" she asked while sitting down as Steve looked at her. "Uh. Private things" he said as the girl raised an eyebrow. "Don't know how I feel about Steve Harrington talking about private things with my dear little brother" she said as Dustin just sighed.
"You're so annoying" he said as she nodded. "That's my job" she said as the boys went back to their conversation. "Anyway, she says kisssings better without teeth" Dustin said as Delilah gagged. "Gross. Me and mom saw enough of that before you left nerd camp" she said as the pair looked at her again, not wanting her there before going back to their conversation. "You two get to eat as much of this as you want ?" her brother asked clearly thinking about his future summer job as Steve nodded. "Not a good idea for me though. I gotta stay in shape for the ladies" he said as Delilah laughed. "You mean the girls with expensive colleges across their tits. Give me a break I'm pretty sure I saw Robs with a white board that were all losses for you" she said as Steve looked at Dustin. "Not true" he said while shaking his head. "Oh-oh really. So if I pulled up the board it would say I'm a liar" she said with her head tilted as he just shook his head. "How's it working out for ya ?" Robin called from the store sending Delilah into another fit of laughter. "Ignore them" he said again as Dustin shrugged. "Seems cool. Robin, that is" he said as Steve just shook his head.
