jack sighed and exited out the app when his phone began to buzz for the 12th time these past 10 minutes.
he checked the caller id and noticed it was cindy, again. he declined the call and put down his phone.
"are you going to tell me now?" she said sitting back in her chair and setting her purse on the chair beside her. "we've been sitting here for an hour and you still haven't told me why you called me"
"i just wanted to talk to you, i wanted to fix things.. it wasn't cool of me to just text you that were over"
she scoffed and shook her head, "so the rumors are true"
"what rumors?"
"that your precious angel cheated on you" she crossed her arms as jack stood quiet, not breaking eye contact with her. "so what? now that you guys are over, your looking for your second plate?"
"no-"
"you left me for her.. you really think i'm going to take you back?" she took a few seconds of silence, "i stopped posting on my platforms, i turned off all my comments, and i limited all my outings to avoid questions about our break up.. i could've easily made you and her look like the bad guys after you cheated on me with her-"
"i never cheated on you with her. cindy isn't like that" he defended her. "she didn't know about you until you called that one time when she answered"
"you took me out to public places, how did she not know?"
"she's never glued to her phone. she's a very down to earth person, and the news here in atlanta isn't heard very much in california.. nobody really knew i was with you while being there"
"so, you didn't cheat on me?"
"no" he shook his head.
"swear"
"swear.. cross my heart"
raine felt a huge lift off her shoulders. all this time she thought the worst of cindy when she didn't even know her in person. she just went off from what her head and friends told her. raine thought that cindy seemed like a very sweet person on and off camera which made raine hate her even more.
