CINDY KIMBERLY
🗓 August 29, 2022
📍 Reggio Calabria Airport"theirs your grandfather" isabel pointed out to cindy.
celia turned to cindy and pulled her away from the crowd, "no more pictures!" she yelled for cindy.
they walked to where her grandfather was along with her aunt laura and her uncle mattia.
"la mia principessa!" her auntie laura said, hugging cindy. (my princess!)
"zia!" cindy said excitedly, hugging back her aunt.
they pulled away after a few seconds, and cindy greeted her uncle, leaving her grandfather last.
"ciao nonno" cindy said, with a small smile. (hi grandpa)
"oh cindy" he chuckled, "quanto tempo è passato bambina" he pulled her into his arms. (how long has it been little girl)
her mother also said hello and cindy introduced celia to her family. as soon as they all greeted each other, they were off to the car but a crowd awaited outside, making cindy's grandfather feel frustrated.
he didn't like that his granddaughter was in this show biz industry but he understood that she liked and wanted it.
with the help of the airport security, they were able to get to the car and drive off to savoca, a town in sicily where her family was from.
they took an hour and thirty-nine minutes but as soon as they arrived, cindy saw several cars parked. she sighed, knowing everybody was was there and they were all going to fake an act.
thats the entire reason why she rather stay away from them. because most of them talk shit behind her back but kiss ass when she's there. and most of them, have said at least one racist joke about her hispanic side.
but they were family, and apparently family is important no matter what- at least in her grandmothers eyes.
"i don't want to be here either" her aunt laura said in her thick accent.
cindy gave her a smile and they helped them take their luggage out of the car. they all walked inside, leaving cindy behind.
she looked at the open home in front of her and sighed, not wanting to go in but she was already here.
"cindy?" her grandfather called out, with his arm reaching for her.
"vado" cindy said, walking to her grandfather. (i'm going)
she catched up to her grandfather and held onto his arm, as they walked in. as soon as they entered, confetti was popped and almost everybody began screaming in happiness.
"sorpresa!" they yelled. (surprise)
oh great, she thought in her head when she saw all of her aunties that she disliked because mostly all of them have disrespect her mother.
"do you still speak italian? or do you want me to get a translator?" her dads older sister, marisa said.
"si, parlo ancora italiano.. hai perdita di memoria? perché è passato solo un anno da quando sono venuto" cindy said, making her auntie's smirk go away. (yeah, i still speak italian.. do you have memory loss? because its only been a year since i've came)
"cindy" her mother tugged on her arm.
"amore mio, come stai" her grandmother said hugging her. (my love, how have you been?)
