everybody laughed at urban and jack's joke for the 3rd time. they didn't really understand but they were just making fun of them.
some of cindy's cousins were huge fans of jack and were just waiting for cindy to bring him so they can brag to their friends.
not only do they have to brag that their cousin is a hollywood actress but now they can brag that jack harlow might be their cousin law.
"do you think they like us?" urban whispered to esme, but she just shrug her shoulders with a small smile, trying not to laugh.
"immagino che stiamo aggiungendo più stranieri alla famiglia" her cousin raul, said. (guess we're adding more foreigners to the family)
everybody in the table turned to him, except for urban, jack and isabel. they turned when they noticed everybody.
"cosa c'è che non va? più diversificato" his wife, ana maria, smiled. (what's wrong with that? more diverse)
"no, niente di sbagliato. solo che questo non mi piace" he said. (no, nothing wrong. i just don't like this)
"sei il primo che è andato a cercare gli stranieri. ana marie non è italiana" raul's little brother, vito, said. (your the first one who went looking out for foreigners. ana maria isn't italian)
"perchè hai sempre qualcosa di schifoso da dire?" esme said, taking a bite of her pasta. (why do you always have something shitty to say? )
"what are they saying?" urban whispered to celia but celia just shrug her shoulders.
"perchè devi sempre aprire la bocca? lascia che gli adulti parlino tesoro" raul said. (why do you always have to open your mouth? let the adults talk sweetheart)
"ma sei come un bambino bloccato nel corpo di un cosiddetto uomo" esme furrowed her eyebrows. (but your like a child stuck in a so called man's body)
their uncle eduardo cleared his throat, not wanting to hear them go at it. "so how long have you and my niece been together?" he asked jack.
"um" he looked at cindy, who was day dreaming. she was in her own little world, starring at her untouched plate. "we've been together for a year and a few months, but we've been knowing each other for a little over three years"
"i thought you guys weren't together anymore?" cindy's aunt, claudia, asked, trying to catch them in a lie. claudia was the third oldest, the one before cindy's dad.
"well" he let out an embarrassed scoff.
"thats our business" cindy spoke, still looking at her plate.
"so what happened with the video, cindy?" her aunt, martina asked, hiding her smile.
isabel's fork fell from her grip, making everybody look at her. celia couldn't help but look at cindy's aunt in disgust. she didn't understand why the old women had the need to bring something like that to the table.
"what video?" eduardo asked.
"cosa dite voi bambini?" her grandmother asked. (what are you children talking about?)
"i don't understand whats the need to bring that up" cindy crossed her arms, looking at martina.
"niente madre, lascia perdere" martina said, smiling. (nothing mother, forget it)
"what video?" eduardo asked.
"nothing, dear, its a women thing" eduardo's wife, marcia, said trying to cover for cindy.
