"did you call me?" cindy said over the phone."yeah but you didn't answer"
"sorry i was busy, but whats up"
"um, it was a false alarm" he took a few seconds of silence to hear a response from her but nothing. "she's not pregnant"
"yeah, i saw your text- by the way thank you, an entire day later but thank you"
he laughed, "but did i tell you?"
"yes, you did" she smiled, "thank you. i'm glad you and i are still cool even after my split from jack"
"naw, i'm glad you could still trust me"
"yeah" said in hesitation.
"have you talked to him?"
"no"
"do you want to talk to him?"
"why"
"just"
"does he want to talk to me?"
"shit, i don't know"
"hm.. where you guys at now?"
"jersey"
"new jersey?" she furrowed her eyebrows, "oh right, the vma's"
"yeah, were about to head in"
"where you guys off to after that?"
"i don't know"
"you never know anything" she said, making him laugh.
they continued talking when her door bell rang. she walked to the door, still being on the phone with urban.
"you know some female named jonica?"
she opened the door, "yeah, i worked with her on the cover of- hey, i'll call you back later" she clicked immediately.
"hey" he smiled.
"hi" she smiled and moved over so he could enter.
"didn't think i'd leave without saying goodbye, right?"
she scoffed and closed the door.
"i thought you weren't going to text me anymore" she said, not really caring if she got a text back or not.
she waked to the living room as he followed behind her, feeling nervous.
"yeah, um" he sighed, "i got you something" he handed her the bag.
she looked at him confused, "what is it?"
"surprise" he shrug his shoulders.
she grabbed the gift bag from him and pulled out a rectangle box, revealing it was tiffany and co.
can't i cant some cartier or pandora, she joked in her head.
"you didn't" she looked up at him, "you shouldn't-"
"open it"
she sighed and slowly opened the box, revealing a diamond necklace. it was the exact design as the tennis bracelet jack gave her, but this one was a necklace.
"i can't accept this" she closed the box.
"why?" he asked.
"because you and i aren't anything and besides-"
"i know, but i'm gifting it to you- even if we aren't together"
"but i can't" she shook her head.
"it's not a ruby or an esmeralda necklace but, its still cute" he smiled. "simple but nice"
she looked up at him and smiled, "thank you"
"your we-"
"i shouldn't accept this because if i do, it means that this is something and i'm not-"
"it's alright, i understand. no compromises"
"but if-"
"just take it. i'm gifting it to you because i liked it, and i thought it'll look nice on you"
"but-"
he smacked his tongue and smiled, "cindy"
"okay" she said lowly, "thank you"
he nodded and leaned in to kiss her. she didn't move, she let him kiss her because, why not? after all, she found him attractive, sexy, handsome..
all of the above.
"what time is your flight" she asked, pulling away.
he looked down at his watch, "in an hour" he took a deep breath, "i have to get going"
she nodded and walked him to the door.
"when am i going to see you again?" he asked, walking outside of her house to the entrance gate.
"i don't know" she shrug her shoulders, "i'm going to be in italy this entire week"
"quieres que te alcanzase?" he joked. (you want me to catch up to you?)
she chuckled, "i'll hit you up when i'm in new york"
"when will that be?"
"i don't know, but soon" she smiled.
"alright" he nodded.
he put both his hands on her cheeks, and leaned down to give her a passionate kiss, that probably would've lasted about a minute if cindy didn't pull away.
she looked behind him and noticed her neighbor watering her grass, minding her business, but occasionally looking at them. cindy scoffed when she saw her side eye them with a smile.
"sorry dear" the middle aged lady yelled in her armenian accent. "i didn't mean to invade your privacy" she let out an embarrassed chuckle.
"your good mrs gevorgyan" cindy yelled back with a smile.
they said goodbye once more, and fransisco left as cindy watched him take off. when he was gone, she turned around about to head back inside her home.
"that one's handsome" mrs gevorgyan said.
"he is" cindy agreed with a smile, crossing her arms.
"but i think you look more in love with the white man- the tall one with curly hair" she smiled but noticed cindy's smile faded away, "don't listen to me, i'm old" she tried to save herself.
"no, your not wrong" she sighed, "he's in a happy relationship.. so thats long gone" cindy gave her a small smile before she fully went inside her home.
she walked into her living room and sat down on the couch. she looked at the box fransisco just gave her and grabbed it.
she knew she shouldn't have accepted, but she also knew that it was a beautiful piece. regardless, she would have to give it back, and not only that, also the tennis bracelet jack gave her.
she rolled her eyes at the thought of giving it back and threw the box on the couch before she left upstairs to her bedroom to finish packing for tomorrow.
