Heading to art club, Paige said that she was going to be at cheer squad practice. Caleb was on his way home. "Hi Ariel.' Miss Price smiled at me. Smiling back, I got a set of paints and some paper out. "How has your day been today?' As I started to paint, I said that it was really good. "It felt calm. Less chaotic. English was good.' Continuing to paint the mural, I used lighter colours. Putting Be Kind on the piece of paper, Miss Price said that it looked nice. As the door opened, another girl said hi to her. "Hi Miss.' It was a new girl. "Hi Amber. It's nice to meet you.' Miss Price asked if she needed any resources. "I'm good thanks.' As she sat down, she got out her pencils and paper. Focusing on my painting, I had a thought..
"Ari! Ari!' My old mom was making me dress up like her. Tank tops and shorts made my skin itch. "Dawson will be here soon so you have to look good!' She shoved me out of the door.
My pencil dropped. "Are you okay Ariel?' I clenched my hand. "I'm fine! Just leave it!' Miss Price asked me if I needed a minute outside. "No. I'm good.' Picking up my paintbrush, I felt my hand shake. It was happening again.. continuing to just focus, my phone buzzed. It was Dad. "You can go and have some time outside if you want to.' Hearing my phone again, I placed it in my bag. Taking some deep breaths, the girl asked me if I was okay. 'I'm fine thanks. What's your name?' She told me. 'Amber. What's yours?' I told her. 'It's nice to meet you Ariel. What are you creating?' I showed her some pictures.. "These are kinda what I'm inspired by.' Amber said that they looked great. "That's so cool! I wish my drawing was better." Asking her why she was in the club, she told me a few things.
"I suffer with aniexty. I have cerebal palsy.' She showed me her handsplint.
"Aw. That must be difficult. How does it feel?' She sighed. "Weird. It's on my left side so my right side is fine. I was born prematurely so I had a stroke inside of my mother.' I was quite shocked. "My left hand clasps up and I have bad co-ordation." I smiled at her. 'You sound so strong.' Amber then told me that I was the first person that she told. "Well, I'm hounoured.'
As we continued to chat, I looked at the time. It was only 4.30pm. Dad texted me asking me if I'd like picking up. After my freak out, I was going to take him up on his offer. Continuing to paint on the piece of paper, I saw my design coming to life. "So, what's your favourite lesson?' Amber told me that it was English. "I love feeling free in terms of creativity.' I understood.
'You are seriously talented.' She then told me that her mom is supportive. "She's great. My dad is too.' I told her more about myself. "I'm adopted. My mom and dad are lovely. I've just had lots to deal with.' Emma then came back into the room. "You seem to have made a new friend Ariel.' I smiled. "Yes I have.' As we finished up, Emma said that it would be on next week. Cleaning up, I helped Amber. "Do you have other friends?"
I said yes. "Ria and Jared." Amber smiled. "That sounds nice.' As we headed out together, I asked her if she wanted to join us for lunch tomorrow.
"I'd love to. Thanks. See you tomorrow.' I phoned Dad. "I'm finished now. Yep. See you in a bit.' Waiting outside for him, I texted Jason.

Just watching a basketball game with Blake. How was art club? I miss you too. Xxxxx
Dad then drove up. "Hey you.' Getting in the car, I asked him how his first day was. "It was really good thanks. I'm just getting briefed up for the mission." Making our way home, he asked me how art club was. "It was really good. I enjoyed it." I could tell that Dad wanted to ask about my little freak out.. but I really wasn't ready to talk about it just yet. Getting home, I went inside. Seeing Mom, I hugged her.
"Hello you. You okay?' I nodded quickly. If I did that, she wouldn't ask questions. Putting my backpack in my bedroom, I went to see my siblings. "Hey sis. How was art club?" Caleb asked me. "It was really good. I met a new girl. Her name is Amber.' My brother said that was nice. "How was your day?" He said that it was good. "Is something up?" I STATED that I was fine.
"Okay. You know where I am if you need to talk sis.' Paige said the same thing. "I know. Anyway, me and you need to talk!" Heading into Paige's bedroom, I asked her about Kian. "Shhh. Mom and Dad will lecture me about having a crush.." So, she was crushing on him!? "So.. what if he's cute? I don't care.' She SO cares. "I'm making burgers for tea! And I'm making salsa as well!' Mom shouted. "We have vacation and wedding plans to discuss kids.' Heading downstairs, we had our family time.
I have to keep my feelings and aniexty under control. Just so that Mom and Dad would leave me alone. I can do this. I can continue to be sober. And put on a front to the ones that I love...

I have cerebral palsy on the left side of my body so I thought it would be nice to add in a personal element of my own life to this for a new character. Paige also has a new crush as she's growing up!xx Ariel also has a new friend in her circle which is lovely.
