(Olivia's P.O.V)
Looking at the wedding list, I called Elliot. He headed upstairs. "Hey Liv." I hadn't felt that close with him lately. I think it was because he had been away. I do love him, but sometimes his job sucks. As I looked at the list, he asked me to look at him. His blue eyes always made me feel really calm.
"Liv.. what's up?" Sighing, I put the pen down. "I've felt.. weird lately. I just feel like we've lost the spark between us." Elliot took my hand. I started crying. "I just miss you. Like, I can't explain it." I was fully crying by this stage. "I can tell that you're upset babe. I've missed you so much too. I've missed having that connection with you." As he comforted me, he went to get tissues. "Do you feel like we've become too comfortable? With how we are?"
He did have a point. We just needed to get that spark back. "How about we start by looking at our wedding stuff?" I smiled. Kissing him, he gazed at me. "Remember that we're all in. I love you Liv. No matter what." As we looked at the plans, he asked about the colours. "Red and white. Are you still okay with that?" He nodded. "I've spoken to Caleb."
He said that he has managed to sort out the suits. He asked if his mom could help out at the venue.
"That would be great. My dress and the girl's dresses are all sorted. Cragen said that he'll walk me down the aisle." Elliot said that I was going to look beautiful.
"Where would you like to go for our honeymoon?" We spoke about Bali. "It sounds amazing. We could go for long walks, nice dinners.. and we could get more intimate time.." I gazed at him.
That sounds incredible. "What would you like in terms of decoration Elliot?" He suggested that maybe could have red and white roses on the chairs. "That would look beautiful. And romantic."
Kissing him, we continued to plan. "Caleb seems to be calming down." I think he was getting used to things changing. "He's just preparing himself for starting this new chapter." When we had finished, Elliot suggested making a bit of dessert together. "I'd love that."
As we went downstairs, we heard the kids. "Ariel is so happy. She's calm." Elliot then said that he was going to check in with her. "She would really appreciate that." As we headed downstairs, I sat on the couch. "So.. How's your brother?" I said that he seemed okay.
"Simon has always been okay. I think him and Nina are sort of struggling with Axel. He's so used to keeping things in like his mom. But, I think he's been having sessions with a member of staff at school.' Elliot smiled. "That's really good. Do you think they'll have more kids?" I would love a niece.
"I think so. But, Nina is healing. She's made so much progress. I'm proud of her." As the smell of chocolate ice cream wafted up my nose, I heard Paige. "Darling?" As her bedroom door opened, she called me.
"What's up?" She giggled. "Kian may be texting me!" I nearly screamed. "Is he?" She nodded.
Sitting with her, she then whispered something in my ear.
"Okay. I'll get some things and put them on your bed for you. Babe, could you just sit with her for a bit? Please?" Elliot nodded. I then got a tampon and a pad. I wanted my daughters to have the choice.
Placing that on her bed, I got two dark colored towels. Placing them on the inside of her bed, I also got some pain relief tablets.
"Hey Mom. Is everything okay?" Caleb stood near the stairs. "Yes sweetheart. Everything is okay. Could I tell you something?" He nodded.
"Paige has started her period. She might be more snappy and emotional. She might need more time in the bathroom as well."
Caleb said that was okay. "I understand Mom. Me and Dad will both be learning." Hugging him, I asked him if he was okay. "I'm alright. I'm just starting to feel paranoid though. My private parts keep getting stiff.'
"Oh. Is it hurting?" He said yes. "Do you need to see a doctor?" He said no. "Mom.. it's embarrassing." My son was becoming a young man. I wanted to cry!😥in a good way.
Once I had sorted out Paige's bedroom, we sat down on the stairs. "I know that this may sound weird, but I can understand that this problem may be strange, but it is normal. I'll call Dr Green." Hugging my boy, I asked him how school was. "It's actually going well. English is cool." As he told me more, I just stared at him. He really was growing up.
"Mom?" I kissed his forehead. "Yes baby?" He asked what I thought about him having new friends. "I think that's really good." As I went back downstairs, he knocked on Ariel's bedroom door. "Come in."
(Caleb's P.O.V)
I felt like as Paige and Ariel's brother, it was my duty to protect them. "Hey bro." Hugging my older sister, I asked her if she was okay.
"I'm alright. I'm busy planning the last bits for the formal dance. It's next week!" It was nice to see her smile. "I'm nervous though. I think Jason is going to ask me to be his girlfriend." Asking her how she felt about that, she was told me how she really felt. "Well, it feels weird. That means I'll have to be like.. really honest with him." Sitting on the chair in the corner of her bedroom, she asked me for some advice. "Remember when you used to go out and not tell Mom and Dad?" She sat on her bed. "Yeah.."
"Think about how Jason would feel if you didn't build up the courage to tell him about your struggles?" I then asked her if it was okay for me to place my hand on her shoulder. You always had to ask Ariel certain things before you did them. It was a new rule.
"I can understand what you're saying bro. He's been so patient and kind towards me. I do like him a lot. I need to think about trusting him." As she put her clothes away, she asked if Paige was okay. "Mom was just talking to me about her. You should go and see if she's okay." Dad called me.
"See you sis." Saying that she loved me, I said it back.
"Hey Dad." Hugging him, he asked me if I was alright. "I'm okay.." Sitting with him in the living room, he mentioned that Mom said something.
"It just keeps happening. I do like Amber a lot. We've been texting most days. But, I don't wanna do the thing that I need to do as I live in the same house as my sisters. It's a private guy thing. That's why mom suggested going to the doctor." Dad giggled. "You're just like me son." Making a drink, I told him more. "Amber is smart. She's funny. Kind. She loves her mom." Dad said that was a good thing.
"You seem better." I was honest.
"I'm still having nightmares. I'm trying to write down what my thoughts mean. Dr Lindstrom wants to continue that exercise with me. The one where we discuss emotions. The messy ones." Dad placed his hand on my shoulder. "Things are going to be okay." As we continued to talk, he asked me a question. "How about we try something to help our father son bond?"
Dad could be so cheesy sometimes..
"We could play basketball at the court if you like?" Dad said that sounded good. "I remember watching the LA Lakers game and I loved it Dad." Hugging him, I asked him how work was. "I can't tell you much as things are private, but I love the job. Just being able to help people gives me joy." Both mom and dad were good people.
Saying goodnight to him, he went to make some tea. "Olivia!" As Mom walked into the kitchen, she asked me if I was okay. "I'm cool." As she hugged me, she smothered me in kisses. "Ew Mom." Giggling, I went to sort myself out.
