Just the Way you Are

Hawaii vacation

1 day on an impulse, Hetty decided to go to Hawaii on her 'Lady H' yacht, and Granger decided to come with her.

'How does a little woman like her drive a boat like this?' Granger thought as he observed Hetty driving the yacht. 'She does it so well.'

When they got to Hawaii, a kind looking woman greeted them at the harbor.

'Hi! I'm Jane Tennant. And you are?'

'Hetty Lange, and this is my husband, Owen Granger. Nice to meet you, Miss Tennant!' Hetty replied.

'You 2 visiting?'

'Yes. Our cabin is right around here. Pointing on the map.'

'That's not far from where I live! I can drive both you there, if you want.' Jane offered.

As Jane drove them to their cabin, Hetty and Granger took in the sights, and Granger also looked lovingly at Hetty a few times.

At the cabin

'This is a beautiful place! How long have you had this place?' Granger asked.

'A few years. An old friend let me have it in his will. I'm going to see Jane, can you finish unpacking by yourself?' Hetty replied.

'Sure! Enjoy yourself.'

Jane was quite happy to see her again.

'You married as well?' Hetty asked over tea.

'Divorced. My career was too much for him. We have 2 kids, it can be pretty tough on them. You have kids?' Jane replied.

'I have a step daughter, very much like myself and her dad in a few ways!'

'You 2 look so in love with each other. What's your secret?' Jane asked.

'Oh. Well, we may have a complicated past, but we both care about each other, and we both try to make each other happy.' Hetty replied.

'Huh. Guess I was overthinking my marriage all along!'

After they finished their tea, Hetty went back to the cabin.

That night, Hetty and Granger went out to watch the sunset.

'This is so beautiful.' Granger said.

'It is. Sunsets like this make me feel so at peace with the world.' Hetty replied.

'This lighting, and the wind blowing her hair. She looks so pretty.' Granger thought.

'I'm getting kind of sleepy, you know what this makes me want to do?'

'What?'

Hetty beckoned him to bend down, and she whispered it in his ear.

Grinning mischivously. 'You read my mind.'

Later, in the bedroom

Sighs happily. 'I was talking to Jane today, and I told her some reasons of why we tolerate each other, and I left out 1 reason.' Hetty said.

'And what would that be?'

'That (laying her head on his shoulder), you are such a good kisser!'

Blushing. 'Really?' (light chuckle).

'Really. (soft eyes look). I love you so much, Owen Granger.'

'And I love you so much, Henrietta Lange Granger.'

'Awwww.' Then she kissed him good night.
